It's kinda more tragic when you remember that in some legends Mordred is the son of the incest relationship between Morgana and Arthur. So, seeing all those scenes with them.. I don't know, it makes me think of how Arthur could've been as a father.

In a couple of these scenes, you can see their pupils almost fully dialated (Especially Mordred). This happens when you're with the person you love....THIS SHIP SAILS ITSELF!!!

It's called People Change. And that's what Gaius says trying to get Merlin to give Mordred a chance. But the thing is...Mordred never changed from bad to good. And I don't mean he always stayed bad. Because he never was. He did change. But from good to bad. Mordred was never the villain. He was a child. Someone who meant no harm to anyone. Didn't want to hurt anyone. It sucks so bad because poor Mordred was a victim. I feel more sympathy for him than I do Merlin or Arthur. Mordred wasn't allowed to choose what he wanted. Merlin chose for him because he kept doubting him and in the end turned on him by turning him and Kara in. Of course Mordred would turn to the only other person who cared about him.

***** Yep. Mordred was a pawn in the entire series. Literally not being allowed to decide for himself. And I think that's a very tragic thing.

Yeah,but he was destined to destroy/kill Arthur...just like Merlin is destinrd to protect Arthur Thats really important in this

But that was the whole point of my comment. He was destined. He wasn't given a choice and it was unfair. He didn't want to hurt anyone even going so far as to try to back out of killing Arthur in a deleted scene. Saying even after the Kara thing he'd rather reason with Arthur than kill him but Morgana "convinced" him and in the end he still had no say so. That's what I'm saying. Fuck destiny. It put a child down a path he never wanted and never even knew he was really on and made him into a killer. I think it's why he smiles when Arthur kills him because he hated what he did and he never wanted to do it. Destiny fucking sucks. And that to me was the point of the show. We see Merlin get darker and become more of a driven anti hero if not self made villain doing what he thought was right and we see Mordred go from innocent child to being manipulated without his own knowledge into fulfilling a prophecy he otherwise would not have wanted to.

People conveniently forget that Merlin saw Mordred as a child use magic to kill solders n cold blood and he smiled after showing hes a sadist Merlin has a every reason to distrust him

I agree with your conversation about merlin/mordred and your video is really good! it's a shame that merlin is ending and they didn't explore enough their relationship..how I would have liked to see them speak to each other's mind like when mordred was a kid

I love Mordred. I like Arthur/Mordred much better actually, because right now, they are the only two characters on the show that I can feel good about and also they show so much care for each other. Merlin is driving me crazy. He's so suspicious and jealous and mean to Mordred. Yeah i agree, Merlin is trying his best for Arthur to see that magic is not evil on his own but ultimately he will drive Mordred to the dark side along the way. i really don't want Mordred to turn evil, i hope when he does it will only be against Merlin and not Arthur. Yeah i hate every time Mordred is trying to prove himself Merlin shots him down...And i do like Arthur/Mordred too!

put Arthur's life in front of everything else, even the people of Camelot. He's obsessed with trying to keep Arthur alive, even though it's probably his own actions that are going to result in Arthur's death anyway. Also, he's been telling people "it'll be different" for five seasons, but nothing has changed. At least Morgana is doing something to make things different! No, Mordred is definitely better. Just love him and how complicated but also earnest he is.

unluckily they announced this is the last season as they had a contract for five years and the actors decided not to renew them to move on to other projects. a lot of fans aren't happy because it looks like the end will be rushed

only from seeson 4 to 5 had passed 3 years... and in 2 to 3 at least 1 peobably 7-8 years
