I saw a couple of the first few episodes. It’s bad. I mean, kids will like it, but for adults it’s like a sad romance/power fantasy, and the first season being about how Snow White’s stepmom transports everyone from every Disney fairytale to a town in Maine centuries later because reasons. They play scenes from centuries ago that the characters can’t even remember! So what’s the point? Oh yeah fanfiction.

I imagined her hair to be more fluffy and curly and big! But this one is nice too

I sort of liked the live action version but was disappointed that it was nowhere as good as it should have been - but then none of the live action versions of Mulan have been great, although Saga of Mulan is the best one so far (2009)

@@jamesrawlins735 I'm not sure you're referring to the Mulan live action movie directed by Jingle Ma from 2009, but I think so far that's at least the better and good one but not really that amazing yet imo. I think that movie loosely adapted the story in an okay level for me, because Mulan there is not an Asian X-men mutant that has Chi powers from the start. And the war period vibe I got from it was really quite good as well, much like some other Chinese films that has the same genre.

@@sleepyrowlet No you're right, thats the one (I got the title wrong - think it's Rise of a Warrior) - it doesn't really have the big epic battle scenes that most Chinese films have but it does a great job with character development - but we don't get all the long, drawn out political segments that Red Cliff has. I still think that there will one day be a great Mulan movie

This is what I love about Merida's father he truly loves his daughter & wants what's best for her but he is very firm about she should rule not only her kingdom but how battles should be fought. Usually fathers disregard the daughters in favor of their sons I like to think he sees more of himself in Merida which is one of the reasons why he loves her so much.

This is one thing I love about Once Upon a Time.....how they bring together different characters to create new stories. I think its a brilliant idea to pair up Merida and Mulan. They learn from each other. This Mulan is SO MUCH BETTER than the one in the so-called live action remake. She didn't need Chi to be powerful, brave and wise.

Unpopular opinion: I think this Mulan is more like the original than the Mulan live action, this is the Mulan I WANT..

Mulan tho 😍😍 I know I’m not the only one who fell in love when she took that helmet off

Reasons why I liked the Merida subplot and why they should've done more with it. 1. Expanded more on Merida's relationship with her dad, which actually made me cry. 2. Really answered the question of whether or not Merida would marry after the movie or rule on her own. 3. Merida learning to fight from Mulan (kind of making me ship them) 4. (going off of 1) Shows that not all Disney fathers are bad ones. Merida's dad is actually supportive and fair. He's letting her fight like she wants, but reminds her that there is still much she needs to learn, and he understood what kind of teacher she needed. That's good parenting: "Alright, you can do this if this is what you want, but this is what you need to prepare for."

I see what you mean and it's true that from time to time it seems like they have a pretty tight budget and the effects/costumes are a bit cheap but the casting and the idea and the storyline are reaaaally cool imo! :)

Mulan: "Honor" Sheng comes from behind the tent "Actually..." brings four large weights and ties them to each of their wrists "Strenght and discipline are what you need. Let's get down to business..."

The actress in Mulan is a thousand times better than the Disney Live action.

I would love to see these characters try to survive westeros. The place where true love always dies and good only wins with cunning. The charmings would be dead on day 1.

Seeing two of my favorite badass Disney princess meeting this way really is something special. :D Both are skilled warriors which I think sort of makes them both unique and alot likable.

I feel like Mulan and Merida would've made a great couple! No clue why the writers didn't go for the idea.

Judy Rodgers They're probably going for an 'olden' Scottish accent or something. I watched some interviews of the actress, and there's definitely a difference between her natural accent and her Merida accent. They're both Scottish accents, but her natural one sounds less off. I'm not sure why they did that.

Two of my favourite Disney princesses working together sign me up. Plus Merida looks so cute when she she sees her dad’s first war bow and then finds out he’s giving it to her, reminds me a bit of the little victory dance she does with her mum when she’s able to get the men out of the throne room.
