Lexie was the youngest and the most innocent of Meredith’s sisters. She was also the one that made Meredith a sister...it was easier for Meredith to eventually accept Maggie and Amelia Bc Lexie already made her a big sister. She pushed Lexie away the most since she had no concept of family but then, she loved Lexie in the end and lost her. Which made her close her heart again

@@kaillipaaverud9341 Yesss, Lexie is my fav character of all time and mark is my fav male. The characters now don’t really have much depth so I never got invested and tried to watch the episodes. There’s pretty much no one left. And definitely on the impact, everyone was waiting in the closure cuz we never got it when they died. We were robbed 😭 didn’t even get a “meeting each other in the afterlife” scene like George and izzie so we would know they were still together like they promised each other

Lexi would always be my favourite sister (biologically) to Meredith. I feel as if Meredith and Lexi had a deeper connection than Meredith has with Maggie.

It’s just different. Lexie fought for Meredith to love her. She fought for her in a way that no biological family member had before. It scared her because she had never experienced it before, and because she assumes everything positive in her life was temporary. Meredith did everything she could to not love Lexie, but she did anyway. Then as soon as they were truly sisters and Meredith had completely absorbed Lexie into her life she dies. Lexie opened her heart in a way that Meredith didn’t even think was possible which made it easier to love Maggie. However, Meredith never forgot how hard Lexie fought to truly be sisters with her. Lexie had to deal with Meredith’s negative family trauma head on, and still succeeded. So, Meredith will never love a new family member (other than her children) like Lexie ever again.

Of all of the Grey's deaths, Lexie's ripped my soul apart the most. That character was so earnest and honest. Chyler Leigh should have won some awards for the way she portrayed that character from start to finish. Kudos to her. She did the damn thing.

Maggie - Maggie is extremely independent, knows her shit, and knows how to get what she wants. She gets flustered when something doesn’t go accurately, but is able to pick herself up. Her relationship with Meredith is sisterly in the kind of way where she doesn’t need to lean on her, but rather the other way around at times. Maggie advises Meredith without even her asking for it. She blunt and raw and gives her the truth when she needs to hear it. Amelia - Amelia can be a mess, but she’s been able to pick herself several times with the help of any friend that is willing to help her. She’s gotten out of her messes , but she absolutely needs help. That isn’t wrong, and it makes perfect sense given the familial environment she grew up in and her alcohol abuse. Her blood sisters look down upon her even when she was okay, but Meredith was there even when she wasn’t all to warm to her at first. Meredith gives her advice, and loves her. Amelia is an explosive, fun, and unpredictable piece of Derek that Mer enjoys having around. Lexie - But, Lexie, that was Meredith’s little baby sister. Little Gray. So innocent, kind, and so very compassionate. This is what made her so strong when Meredith full on rejected her when they met. She always focused on everyone else around her, especially Meredith. Meredith in this case of sibling absolutely made sure to take of her, and took a new role she never thought she had to or would want to. Each of Meredith’s sisters is quite unique in their strengths and weaknesses which bring out a different side in Meredith, but something about Lexie brought out Meredith’s kinder side. It’s something Meredith never had, especially since now with the other sisters who are older than Lexie and closer to Mer’s age. They can take care of themselves, but Lexie was her kid sister she could take of and love with a different kind of love she could have from other sisters.

The worst part is something i feel gets forgotten a lot- aninals came at night and Meredith heard them eat her sister's remains. It's just one line but its such an unimaginable trauma

I loved Lexie and Mark. They deserved so much more. Amd it breaks my heart when I see how devestated Callie was to lose Mark her very best friend and the father of her baby. They had the best relationship of anyone on that show. They had such a strong and unconditional love for each other..He got jipped not getting to watch Sofia grow. He was such a good dad.

Mcsteamy and Lexi dying was when the show started to fall apart... never got to see a good ending to that great love story!!!

Nobody could ever have the love/hate relationship that Lexie and Meredith had. And even if they did it wouldn’t be as good as this one.😔 I really miss Lexie💕

Lexie would be proud of Mer, she knew that her older sister would be a great surgeon and a great human. I just wish that she was here to take care of Mer with Maggie when she get Alzheimer's disease. I love Lexie and for sure she was the only character that I still carry all the sadness and grief through all the years since we lost this lovely little precious thing in season 8. 😔❤️

I hated how she treated her too. But at the same time I can understand why she treated her the way she did. It’s hard knowing your parent left you and started a whole new family. And then to have to be around someone they chose over you, absolutely sucks. But I’m so glad that she eventually warmed up to Lexie and they became actual sisters. Yes they did hug in the show. I used a clip where they hugged on New Years in the operating room.

Lexi and Meredith had a bond that transcends time. Lexi proved she had the same steel in her that Meredith has. She was patient, and never gave up, and her heart was safe with her sister.

When Meredith said “ Lexi was in the back of the plane” you can really hear the panic in her voice for her little sister. Worst decision ever to kill Lexi off, she would have been a great support system for mer when derek died

When Maggie said "My mom's Ellis Grey" Mer was like "Ah, shit, here we go again"

I really Chyler Leigh had stayed on the show, lexie death just so painful, it would have saved everyone so much pain

Damn Mer loved Lexie well not at first but later on and even after losing her. Lexie changed Mer when it comes to letting other people in. Lexiepedia was one of my favorites. I miss her

@@worse0185 i only hated her because i felt like she undermined meredith’s struggles because she had her own, acting like having a bad father is worse than being left by him (not that it isn’t, they are not comparable, no struggles are) and i felt like she was a little bit self absorbed. but by season five she because one of my favorites ❤️

I fell in love with Lexie. I fell in love. My heart broke the same way Meredith’s did. I still haven’t gotten over it. I am still angry about it. I still miss her.

I think in the end Meredith realised how much she had wanted siblings and if she had known she wasn’t an only child her life would be completely different. She wouldn’t have grown up alone so the wall she had up was just shattered when she met Lexie because she was what she needed. She didn’t get a loving parent. But a funny, loving, sister 😭😭😭😭 I want to rewatch Greys but the heart ache again is too much 🤯💔 And then when she met Maggie it’s like they knew she needed another one - she had to have wondered if Richard and Ellis had a kid... 🧐

It's probably why she was so angry when she met her sisters, she lived her entire life as an only child with a mother who resented her, so when she finds out there was something/someone out there she could of had she was mad but eventually she warmed up to them a grew to love them.

I think the wall started to fracture when Meredith met her half-sister Molly first. She’s Lexi’s sister, with Thatcher and Susan being their parents. Meredith already knew about them, it’s just she met her first and helped her deliver her baby (her niece) all before Lexi arrived.

It was sad when Lexie said: tell Meredith I love her and she was a good sister that malt my heart

As a 35 year old guy who has watched this show since it started, whenever i feel like i need to cry I can always count on older episodes of this show to get it going.

Lexi will always have a special place in my heart, I would have loved to have seen her in navy scrubs

She was the sweetest and most kind and damn smart Meredith loved her it took awhile but Lexi was persistent

I loved Lexie. The development of her and Meredith's relationship was long but real. Maggie came along and it was so quick so really didn't feel the same. Everyone loved Lexie, if not at first, in the end they did . Meredith, Mark, Derek - Even Cristina.

Meredith has every reason to ruin her life or people around her but she always always pull thru 😢😢😢😢. I love them both. 😭😭😭

She deserved so much more than what she got I will always miss Lexie she made the show 😭❤️

The way Jo and Steph gossiped about the plane crash like...idk maybe if someone I knew went through something so intense I would be the same but because we know what happened and we know Lexi wasn't just "another one" it actually made me so mad. Lexi was the first one bro! The OG GREY SISTER!

"I love her" part made me cry😬

For me , this show died when Lexie died. She was everything you want in a character: humble, insecure, unsure of herself, brilliant, tenacious, loving, emotional, sweet and just good. And as great a surgeon as Meredith was, I think Lexie would have surpassed her. She had that natural brilliance, coupled with a photographic memory) and she cared for her patients in a way few doctors can. Her death scene to me is the saddest of all time.

I catch myself wondering in any scene "what if Lexie was alive?" or "It will be so nice if Lexie was there too", but i get the fact that if she was there, maybe this things don't happen or happen in a diferent way, anyway she was one of my favorite characters and i loved the evolution of her relationship with Mer 😥this still makes me sad, one of the deaths that i can't overcome.

I absolutely loved this. I think you showed just how much Meredith grieved and missed Lexi from the moment it happened going onto the present day. Also, I loved that comparison you showed of how Meredith and Lexie bonded over how to honour their mother's death while Maggie didn't get it. I always wonder if Meredith consistently compares them in her head, and how in a way Lexie was more like Meredith than Maggie was. She got her in a way that Maggie doesn't always and I think that it shows in the vid.

Even if in the beginning she was like she didn’t need a sister, it’s exactly what she needed and what she got and Meredith was crushed when she lost her! Something changed inside of her when her little sister died!!!
