Mercy Without End, Sunday Service, May 26, 2024, 10:00 a.m. CDT

Rev. Kathleen Rolenz | Peggy Lin, worship associate | Jeffery Van, guitar
Ukraine. Israel and Palestine. Haiti. Eritrea. Ethiopia. There are so many places around the globe where violence and the war that follows results in an endless cycle of retaliation and devastation. On this Memorial Day Sunday, we honor those who have died in past wars, while maintaining the hope that we can learn the things that make for peace.
Join other Unity Church congregants for informal conversation at an online coffee hour after the service. Contact Philippa Anastos at philippa@unityunitarian.org for the link to join each Sunday when the live-streamed service ends.
If this is your first time joining us, please fill out a visitor form online at www.unityunitarian.org/visito...
Unity Church resides on the homelands of the Dakota Nation. We honor with gratitude the people who have stewarded the land throughout the generations and their ongoing contributions to this region. We acknowledge the ongoing injustices that we have committed against the Dakota Nation, and we wish to interrupt this legacy, beginning with acts of healing and honest storytelling about this place.
The flowers in the Sanctuary are given in loving memory of David Byfield and in honor of his friends he so admired who are involved with Veterans for Peace.
The goal of Unity’s Indigenous Justice Team is to help amplify indigenous voices in the public square and in state/national policy decision-making and to help generate greater awareness of what needs to be done locally to address the destruction of Dakota/Ojibwe cultures and seizure of their land as part of Minnesota colonization. This collection will support the sponsorship of the national meeting of the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery to be held at Unity Church in June, and to continue providing educational opportunities for Unity members to experience and witness indigenous culture and history. Worship associate Peggy Lin has been at Unity Church for a long time! She was married here to Harrison, her husband of nearly 25 years, and raised her three daughters here. Peggy served on Unity's Board of Trustees, the 1999 Ministerial Search Team, and co-produced the youth musical three times. She is excited for this opportunity to serve as a worship associate.
