Thanks for the video. I've got a 2003 Mercury 40 hp efi that I replaced the high pressure fuel pump in the tank. Does the fuel pressure regulator supposed to have a vacuum hose on it? I don't remember if mine had one on it and I might have buried it behind the tank when reinstalling.

i have the same problem. pro 170 tracker. i dont think its due to aftermarket parts. i just disassembled mine. its never been taken apart but the float was hitting the seal. i filed it down slightly and hopefully fixed this poor engineering. Im learning mercury hires the same engineering folks Boeing hires

I have A 60 hp merc 2006 and i cant get the boat too tac up past 3600 rpm. I think this could be the issue.

What were your symptoms? Just overflows, or was there performance or idle issues too. Thanks for sharing!

I just broke mine apart last night. The air vent was draining fuel. I think I have the same problem with that gasket above the pump.

What was the symptoms of your fault? Mine is draining fuel from the top hose when pumping the fuel line bladder. Sounds a bit like yours 🤔

Ok I see. I have a rough idle and fuel leaks when pumping the bladder. Engine is only 5 years old. I suspect the 10% ethanol additive here in Sweden takes a toll on certain rubber/plastics.

How’s the fuel pump holding up so far ? Been thinking about getting the cheap one aswell !

That Mercury will keep you busy fixing instead of fishing. A Yamaha 4 stroke is the only way to go for reliability.
