Mercedes W140 600 SEL Project Part 7: Wiring Harness and Wiring Issues

This car is my own Mercedes 600 SEL 1992 57k miles Full Mercedes Service History, one previous royal owner.
The car was serviced every year from new by Mercedes until 2015 when I purchased the car.
I have stored the car for five years and now I am going to revive the car to its former glory with a small
restoration. The body and interior are in very good order, but the car suffers with the usual W140 issues.
Oil leaks from the upper timing covers.
Wiring harnesses in engine bay with faulty insulation.
Air leaks on inlet from manifold risers and breather pipe.
I will post a series of videos, show the problem areas and the progress of this project. They are not step by step guides, but may assist you if you encounter similar problems.

Any tricks to removing the main wire connectors? I mean the colored ones in the box. Do they just lift up and have clearance to work on the pig tailing and soldering?

i worked on a couple armored plated w140s way back in the day. windows were super thick and the doors were very heavy. you could feel all the weight when driving. I hope some day I can find one to buy.
