Here's how to replace a water pump on your Mercedes Vito 2009 Van 111 CDI W639 OM646 engine including the thermostat, drive belt pulleys. In this video the front bumper has also been removed which you may find useful for other jobs, also included are the tools needed.

for the water pump the surfaces were thoroughly cleaned and a new gasket was applied, don't recommend reusing gaskets etc.
