Another great video. The glow plugs on the Mercedes are a bugger for snapping, and using such a small fine thread does not help matters. Glad to see the Topdon still going strong.

I’m in the USA and I have a new 2022 Sprinter. I got this message while driving “Additive (DEF) System Fault Starts until Emers, Op. 10 See Operator's Manual” dealer had it for a day and started the engine countless times. They called the next day saying that a rodent have chewed up on the sensor wiring harness. I’m waiting on the pictures to show proof of the damage and I was quoted for $1045.14 USD to fix the problem.

I don't have the patience, tools or facilities to tackle the jobs you demonstrate. However I'm interested in cars and your calm and clear style is good to watch and I learn a lot. Although this job looked OK I'm amazed at how many cars aren't designed to be maintained easily. An interesting video would be some examples of simple jobs being turned into a nightmare by stupid design.

I have fault code P300651 - "NOx sensor upstream of SCR has a short circuit to battery (+). An implausible signal exists" on a 2019 - 907.155 would this be the sensor 1 you pointed out or could it be the sensor just behind the Turbo? also is nox sensor bank 1 that you pointed out the same sensor part number on ebay? Thankyou for the great video btw, I am in Aus and not many people are this knowledgeable on Mercedes here even at the dealerships.

Great video. I used this to replace the same part but annoyingly the upstream sensor has gone. Is this sensor hard to replace than the one in this video, can anyone else advise? Thanks for you time :)

How many nox sensors are there on a 2017 3.0? The Mercedes dealership talks like there are multiple. I've had enough of the dealership and I'm going to figure this out. I need answers to a few questions.

Hard to say exactly without the details , most likely 2 but could have a soot content sensor too

I believe they have changed it in later models mate

I dont have a professional scan tool. Could it do harm driving it after installing a new one? Or will it learn over a couple drive cycles?

Best to be coded really , you may be ok but I wouldn’t like to recommend it

Now that was an interesting video, unfortunately I have a Crafter the Frankenstein 2E variant with the 2.5 engine, it only has one Nox sensor after the cat throwing a p22a7 every hundred miles or so which points to it being the sensors internal Hester. I can’t find any way to measure the Nox ppm or heater values. I own VCDS and a Kingbolen K7, although I can see info related to the error code in the freeze frame data I can’t work out which measuring block to view so I can do some monitoring of live data. I thought the info would be available via eobd on the K7 but there is absolutely nothing showing if I search for anything called “Nox’ I am at total loss why it seems so hard to diagnose this on a Crafter! There doesn’t seem to be a list of VW measuring blocks anywhere on the internet either which makes doing it via VCDS near impossible as well I am sure the info must be there, so frustrating not being able to read it 😀

Seen a post where a gent paid Merc £865 to have this replaced.
