Lol u made it look so easy. Of course the bottom screw stripped on mine and I had to chisel it with a screwdriver and it snapped off. Also the bolts on mine are different which is how I stripped it

Thank you, I am about to do this with a 2006 ML350 stuck in park. Luckily I found someone to program it for me after I install it For 250.00. Still a bargain considering the dealer cost.

I really recommend changing your ism modules for dsm module, the ism module has problems with a gear but the dsm has water filtration problems but I think it can be solved more easily

Mine had torx screws on it. Much harder. Had to remove drive shaft. Want to buy an Ml?

Did this fix your problem did u get it adapted calibrated programmed to vin amd scn coded?

so if you don't have STAR you can't do this, correct?

The easy way it's undo the drive shaft from the transfercase

Hey man, I assume swapping your module fixed your issue? Did you car start with the defective module still installed? Mine starts but cannot shift gears.

Will stays in park but if you have a scanner you can clear until you make to a safe destination...

After owning this car. Smh. Nightmare. My wiper, turn signal, fuel gage and power gate went out at the same time. I thought it was a relay fuse. Any suggestions?

Look up Mercedes SAM module for your Benz. ML350/R350 they are in the passenger rear quarter panel, behind the tail light. Down in there

We need to see what happens after replacement was the car drivable or did it need programming first ?

I got mine from Amazon.com also use the autel scanner im608pro or any MaxiSYS MS908 good luck

no this is an ISM ie. a "P-R-N-D" gear shifter, nothing to do with a SAM! SAM are Mercedes smart fuse boxes

@@glasser2819 Well not a fuse box...Signal Actuation Modules (SAM) are modules (mainboards) that specifically carry out actuations/de-actuations and monitoring of specific components via areas of the car (rear & front).

Not really showing that how you actually removed the ISM, sounded like you went back to your garage , and searched for another one. It was a video cut. So was definitely not helpful.
