    I was prepared to go through the glove compartment, and saw this video at the last minute. It took less than 5 minutes following your excellent instructions. AND, I learned about the leading dust filter. On order, and your tip was a huge help. Thank you.

    Bless you for sharing how to change those interior filters! Taking the entire glove box out to do it is RIDICULOUS! Thanks for nothing MB. Also I've had 3 MB with similar filters and they always start smelling awful pretty quickly so changing them is a must. Thanks again for the super helpful video.

    Oh by the way thank you so much for the clip how to replace all cabin dust filters. Once I finished watching your VDO, I immediately changed all 3 filters on my car. I took only a few minutes. Without your VDO, I might take hours to figure it out myself.

    Actually the hood just goes back beyond the normal opening by gently pushing it back. Years ago I had an earlier model GL450 that had a red button you pushed on the driver side pneumatic lifter to allow it to go back. Hope this is helpful.

    Where can I get the part number for that "cabin dust filter" as you referred to it? FWIW, I've already ordered the twin-pack of cabin air filters but did not realize there is ANOTHER filter that you removed first in the video before getting to those. Is it a different filter dimensions-wise?

  • @whodajudge4948

    @whodajudge4948

    Yes, there are 2 sets of filters. The air blower housing which consists of ( 2) charcoal filters, and the air intake housing pre-filter if you will, to screen out larger particles in the air intake housing. I looked up the MB part # and it is - Part#: 166-830-02-18. Thats OEM, but Mann Filter makes one for it which you can cross reference. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Robert.

Lol….Do you have a weird antifreeze smell every now and again? I’m chasing a dragon for a little while. Come to find out even brand new Mercedes’ are having the same issue. It’s coming from the engine bay inside through the air intake. I can’t figure it out… I’ve taken the entire car apart and I can’t figure it out.

    @@scotthart6237 I owned a 2009 C300 from new for 10yrs, always had the antifreeze smell, never lost coolant and techs (including at a dealer in Germany since I picked it up there) ever found a leak. I just bought a 2014 ML350, 14K miles on it, same smell. Just accept it as a quirk…no telling where it’s coming from.
