Trade in the Tesla and get one of these. It makes sense for the amount of money they are want for it. It is fully loaded and comes with everything and you know it is quality because of the brand and the reputation that Mercedes has and you know it will be fully complete unlike the counter part Tesla where they deliver half finished products. Sorry had to I love my german engineering. Overall great video I'm glad that you enjoyed this car if you get one I would love to see the content. Keep up The great work and keep it coming!!

Mo i Rana means "Mo in Rana". The name "Mo" comes from an old farm that was situated near the modern city, and the name of the farm comes from the Old Norse name Móar, which means sand or grass lowland. The name Rana is believed to originate from Old Norse as well. "Rana" means quick or fast, and the name is assumed to be related to the fast water flow in the fjord "Ranfjorden" by the city. I always wanted to know... 3 simple words that refer to such a long history.

3,4 kW seems not high when you consider its not only heating the car and the battery (optimal operational battery temperature is way above 0 degrees like you guessed) . The car is basically running. All the systems, ECU's, etc... are operating the same way no matter if the car is in neutral or in drive. My guess is the consumption would be on a similar level of other cars if there would be a camping mode with screens and all unnecessary stuff off.

Hello Nyland!!! I enjoy so much every video of the EQS you made till now. About the higher consumption during the night, I guess that the EQS have some more electrical modules than the others car you have tested before and that means more energy to waste in order to keep the whole system working. And the reality is that that car seems to have lots of stuff, maybe some of them not visible at all. For me, one of the greatest things is the isolation inside. There are parts that you are talking and the sound is so clear that I only believe that you are moving because I see the blur image of the cars on the windows. That's amazing!!!!!!!. The price of the car is a consequence of what you have in your hands. Remember, if you like spicy... more chili!!!. I would like to know the opinion of your wife. Bye.

Glad the Germans finally came out with a proper luxury EV. Tesla makes a good (budget/low premium market ICE comparable) EV, but compared to a higher end German made car (I have a Tesla so I'm not a hater), it's just in another league in regards to being a good car (minus the tech - but let's be honest, that's just a small part of a car). Bjørn, you should test drive a BMW 7-series. I know it's an ICE, but that car is amazing in regards to ride comfort and quietness - we can look forward to that car in EV form. It's actually pretty close in terms of ride comfort and quietness to a Rolls Royce Phantom that I drove around in.

All (released in EU) EVs up until now (minus EQS) have been budget/premium cars or sport/combo car, like the Porsche Taycan or E-tron GT. To get a good understanding of what makes a car good he should get some experience of the real luxury cars/brands, like the Audi A8, BMW 7series, or even Bentley, Maybach and Rolls Royce for luxury and Porsche for sports cars (non-EVs, like the 911). This will help build a foundation on what to look for when reviewing different types of EVs. Is the EQS better or worse than the ICE version (S-class)? What does it do better? How does the EQS compare to other luxury cars in regards to suspension, ride comfort, quietness etc.

@@topgunm yea I understand, my point being for the efficiency of the vehicle he would just fill up with gas and drive to the arctic circle stopping to fill up with gas (basically taking a mpg reading). Sleeping in the car with the motor running all night for heat, no need to check the nav system for where the next charging point is..you get my point, the reason I got my model s was for free supercharging and the joy I got from zero tail pipe emissions. But the build quality is utter wank compared to german, or British luxury..I guarantee you that if Bjorn started reviewing ice cars which I would put money on that he wouldn't his channel would be doomed...I think..lol

@@AOTanoos22 not review. Test drive. I mean the difference between an ICE and EV is just the powetrain. If anything the EV equivalent is better due to no vibrations and instant torque. It's to get experience different cars, suspension, sound isolation, driving dynamics etc. EVs today are less tech (minus Tesla) and more or less a normal car.

@@bjornnyland Wow, Björn, you are earning your money the hard way. For a trucker this would be a fair amount, but for a KZreadr - respect! May I give you an idea about improving the accuracy of your 1k challenge chart? Why are you not using the "real" average speed from your board computer (you are using the calculated one) because that would allow you to ignore the "stuck behind a police car" times. And by extrapolating to, let's say, an average of 100 km/h, for all cars, you would have a fair comparison. The idea/math behind it is quite simple: time - (1000km /"real" average speed) = real charging time in hrs; real charging time in hrs /(10 hrs (we took 100 km/h) + real charging time in hrs) => average percentage you have to add, for a longer trip, for that car

MB in fossil cars light all indicators before you turn on the engine, so if three is a burnt light you will notice. You will also get a message about it. This car has an screen, but I guess MB decided to use the same scheme. Think "check engine light" bulb was removed so when you go to buy it the light "does not turn on", well, you will notice even before turning on the engine.
