Thanks for your videos on the engine oil and spark plug change on this 2008 Mercedes E 350. Does it use a timing belt, and if so have you tackled that changeout? Also have you ever replaced the water pump? I have always worked on my cars and just trying to determine how difficult it would be to do basic things like these.

I recommend hand tightening the oil filter housing , Also check to see if the oil cap gasket is missing . Great video though!

The MB part number for the Oil Filter Wrench tool is 103 589 02 09 00. Check on eBay or google for the part # to see who sells it near you. Also, I got mine a while ago, so check with your local MB dealer if there is a newer part number.

why not make a reference to the insertion depth marks on the filter - two black lines. you can insert the tube either way.

What oil for 2013 E350 regular sadan something 229.5 I don't know what is that and it 135,000 mileage..... thanks

You can lookup up the engine oil and other liquids specifications for your car in your user manual. After you have that, you can see the approved products on the following link: bevo.mercedes-benz.com/index.php?language_id=1 Specifically for 229.5, the following engine oils are approved: bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/229.5_de.html

beautifully shot video........... but you didn't inform us on the amount of quarts / capacity that the car holds on refill........

You can find the engine oil capacity in your owner's manual. For the engine I show in the video you will need to buy 9 qts of oil. The most economical way is to buy it in quantity of 5 qts and just buying two. Also, keep in mind that the amount of oil that you will put into the engine must show in the appropriate range shown on the engine oil dip stick (and not the specified amount in the owner's manual, since not all of the oil will drain from the engine when you do the oil change). Please make sure that you do not overfill. Hope this helps.

If I can't get 0w40 what else can I use. We are going into winter now. -40 to 0 degreea will be a normal temp soon.

lol looks like the oil filter cap in the beginning was torqued too much because he couldn't crack it open at first... that's typical at the dealer...lol

You are correct. The previous oil change was done at the dealer.

Check the first 2 1/2 minutes of the spark plug replacement video on how to remove the engine air filter housing. There are two air filter inserts you will need. You will need to remove the screws in the plastic engine air filter housing to get access to the air filter. The spark plug video that shows you the procedure on how to remove the air filter housing in the beginning of the video is located here: m.kzread.info/dash/bejne/lZh31ZJ7ptq7pKQ.html

The process should be the exact same for a 2007 E350, not a 4matic one, right?

On the E350 4matic you access the drain plug by removing the front splash shield (not the 2nd splash shield that is further away from the front of the car). The rest is very similar.

My one is at the back though i am not sure if he speaks about the CGI or CDI. I own a CGI.

I got e350 2010 the oil filler hole is si big u can see engine inside wtf is so scary is that normal isnt there any protection

how many torque of filter?

The torque value is printed on the engine filter housing cover. On my vehicle, the torque for the engine filter housing is 25 Nm.

Is the car on ramps? If so, what type of ramps are they. I bought rhino ramps and my 2009 e350 didn’t clear it.

I use the Rhino Gear RhinoRamp MAX and my E350 barely clears them.

I did not have to use any boards. I just used the ramps. Maybe your tire profile / height is different just enough for the front bumper to not clear the ramp.

bpetertube that’s exactly what happened. The ramp wouldn’t even touch my tire, unless I put the edge of the ramp under the tire, but then that would be dangerous driving up. The ramp kept hitting the bottom fender and pushing it away. So I ended up buying a 3 ton jack with 3 ton jack stands. It would be awesome if you had a video on jack points and how to correctly do it.

I have a 09 e350 AMG. it clears the rhino ramps without issues. Even though the amg package is about an inch lower.

Whoever overtighten that (plastic) oil filter housing wow!

Doesn’t it need 0w-30 ??

Nicholas DiGiovanni look behind the engine, it's a blue dipstick. I have a e550 and I have a dipstick. Just look behind the engine by the firewall
