Mercedes C450 AMG Soundcheck: K&N Air Filter vs Stock (33-5032) C43
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
2016 Mercedes C450 with 3.0L V6 and 367hp gets his two stock air filters replaced by K&N filters (33-5032). This video shows the sound comparison of air intake and exhaust.
Due to the two turbos there is no real difference between both filters regarding sound, but the K&N has higher quality and will let pass enough air even when it gets dirty.

Very informative and yes it takes out the doubt from those who think aftermarket air filter will totally transform the car, which it won't
Thanks for video!
True ..and also to know whatever you gained hp you have to test it or at least drive it to notice the difference
Don't understand why you are showing sound at the exhaust tips. Change in air filter has no effect on that.

I know, but this is exactly what I wanted to show to people, who think that it could have an effect.

OK, makes sense.
Is there only one air filter box? I thought at first there's left and right. Thanks.
sounds more alive with K&N
With the K&n can you hear the turbo more? Or should I just get the BMS dual intake?

shahin00751 I do not regret having these filters installed and I think that the car gets more agile when also driven with 102 octane gasoline. So sport filters and high quality fuel is a good combination for this engine.

shahin00751 We used BMC filters, they have superior filtration capabilities
Does your c43 amg the engine is very hot by the fender and headlight after you drive about 15-30 mins sir.

you need two filters from KN for this car right?

Yes, it has two intakes thus needs two filters.

In reality, you could use one as it will take the path of least resistance, our C320 and C350 had to long panel filters, both flowed back to the MAF at the rear of the engine (same inlet port).

@@OverlandTT two intakes for two turbos (1 each).

@@NYAudioGuru Not quite, my previous Mercedes took two panel K&N filters as does my V8 Cayenne S, both intakes for the left and right hand banks actually fed through to a single plenum for the actual air distribution, the same principal was used on both Porsche and Mercedes.
Did you disconnect and reconnect the battery when you changed the filter?

Noooo it's a air filter dude...🤦🏼♂️
so we should buy or not? any diff between consumption?

To buy or not to buy ... good question. You get a slight increase of the intake sound. And I think that the enigne behaviour gets less dependent on outside air temperature e.g. when it gets really hot. I don't see any difference in consumption.
Nice ride, what ashame to spoil it with a caveman cheapo air filter 😔 play it safe and get something around 99% efficiency and capable of catching 5 microns
lol man ...sport air filter no for +100hp or more loud sound omfg ....sport filter results in better maintenance of purity filter has better air permeability so the engine breathe better is out there max + 5HP ... 20nm particular sports filter is better than stock
I hear zero difference bro sorry...
U need to learn how to rev ur car smh lol

jr5mob There is nothing to learn: While not driving the rev is limited by design. Yes, it sounds a bit weird ...
