Frank Assnot S Class FTW!

A very appealing and classically styled luxury car! Well designed, imo it hasn't aged, still looks great in 2020. That factory is very quiet, almost zen like to watch :-)

it is good to know that people are still building the cars, not only the robots.

I'm impressed by how quiet the assembly line is, but I thought they would use more robots, like in the Tesla production video.

This factory is heaven on earth. Wish I could drive the new S class. Love Mercedes

Much hate in your voice friend. Actually we make less than 10 years ago, not a screw or glove is wasted, everything is recycled and the floor is meticulously clean. All the old men are gone, there are no jobs where you don't run for 8 hours...and we are the lucky ones. All the jobs are being chased away with jealousy and hate.

Steve Konrad You have no idea what your talking about. Just spite bathed in jealousy due to an imaginary advantage. ALL auto plants today are run the same and even get their parts from the same suppliers. Only 10% of the cost of a car is labor. Everything is robotized and computer controlled. FYI Mercedes and BMW are middle ranking quality. With Toyota, Honda and Ford near the top. The GM Oshawa plant has the #1 ranking in the world. So go ahead...chase all the good jobs away with your hate. What does that leave us?

and when they say "rols royce" is hand made... what is the exact difference. here, machines are only doing heavy lifting and transport.. everything else is done by hand... so in rols royce there are some dudes carrying engines in their hands?

***** wood work has to be done by hands (using tools). leather stuff also by human... i am a driver and i have delivered 2 euro pallets of leather from Germany to Bosnia (Visoko). 15% of their leather seat covers are all over the Europe in many car brands and everything is done by hand. Actually person is using sawing machine but i doubt in rols royce they do not use sawing machine. engines (pistons, valves, timing chains...) are in BMW regularly done by hand also, so "hand made" is just a marketing trick.

lloyd dunhill You're tarnishing a legitimate argument with ignorance and simply incorrect facts. Since automobiles cost so much to transport and the fact that so much of their assembly is done by machines, it is not econimically viable for car companies to base their construction in China. Therefore, they base themselves in Germany or the United States.

It's just plain impressive to see a robotic arm putting the dash in place with so little room.

It's worth it to look like the best car of the world from stuttgart is produced. Mercedes-Benz - literally. The best or nothing.

The difference between German plants and American plants looks like a night and day difference. The German plants are so much faster paced, better technology, the plant is more organized, and people wear uniforms. American GM plants appear so much slower.

built pretty much exactly the same as any other 2014 car. Its just that they put some extra paint. Spend some more money on the seats and thats it.

I like watching these. You get an appreciation for the work that was put into the car. The s class is a very nice car I occasionally see them here all over southern California. Money may buy you this car but i feel like production should be credited more.

i have a mercedes benz w116 (35 years old s class) and its made with handy much more....and the quality is better..

MrDanielsahne i own a 2014 S-class.. and i have to say its a really great car.. but it does have some points down on the quality.. i mean i broke 1 part of the interior just by touching it the 1st few days i got it .. and the material was a crappy piece of plastic.. ( the button to open the glass top am talkin about ) ..
