This week on Buckle Up we have come across the most elite car we can think of, a manual estate version of the Mercedes Benz C Class. Most enthusiasts will tell you at length how a stick shift is more engaging and rewarding to drive, and they will also lament the ever decreasing presence of Estates on the roads as they are shunned by normal drivers for SUVs and Crossovers, and do you know what? We agree with them. So lets find out if the Merc can be everything we (and all the other elite enthusiasts) hope it can be.

That "switch" on the accelerator is more than likely the kickdown switch for the automatic version. A bit wierd that they didn't do anything about that, but then again 99% of the mercs are automatics anyway so the manual is often more of an afterthougt on them

I've come across similar on electric cars, they seem to put in kickdown switches to hold back a little performance to aid in economic driving.
But the real question is... How does it compare to the Jaguar X-Type estate?
