My friend installed the spring clips incorrectly which was causing my brakes to make a loud ass squealing noise. Didn't figure it out until today & you showed me how they should be properly installed so thank you for that 💪.

good video thanks. First time doing brakes on a MB, doesn't look too bad. Unusual design on the pins for the caliper.

There are not that many CLS550's available. Don't over pay. MB did not import all that many of these cars to the USA. There is a DOT recall on: 1. gas tank 2. Air Bag 3. Sun Roof Gasket MB will fix these recalls for free. The front door window regulators are also problematic. Replace them as soon as they start to make noise. They fail faster in hot climates. $1200 at the MB dealership. Other than that, these are solid cars.

Hello, Great video by the way, I have a 06 cls500 and I want to try and change them out my self. Do I need to bleed out the brake line or just follow step by step how you did it by just uncapping the reservoir? Any feed back would be highly appreciated. Thank You

Jose Gaitan No need to bleed unless you are changing out the brake fluid; which you should do every 3 or 4 years

Scotty Kilmer has a video where he’s telling people you need a computer to replace pads on that same car. I said in the comments that he was lying.

Not lying, he just doesn't know how to explain things. This model Mercedes uses the SBC brake system. The official repair information does call to "turn off" the system to prevent any feedback when servicing the system. However, as long as you do not wake up the car, or if you disconnect the battery, you can service them without any need of the scanner.

Eric Evolving car runs great. Only has 68k miles on it. There is a recall on the gas tank and air bag. My local dealer did both for free. The front window regulators on the CLS have problems. It’s in the design. Change them when they start to make noise. Most effected by hot weather. Had both front regulators changed by my local dealer. I did not have the time to do it. Cost $1200.

Great video! I just did this on my cls500 and now I have a terrible grinding noise without touching the brakes. Could I have not pushed the caliper pistons in far enough? I'm going to try and redo them tomorrow and compress the calipers more. It feels like the pads are scraping the rotor. Please help!

Blake Carlisle That is very unusual. It may be that the dust cover got bent and it is rubbing on the rotor. It happens sometimes because it is just thin metal.

Never ever put grease on the back of your pads. The shim is what keep the pads from squealing.

Dunno why this was in my recommendations, but wanted to say good job, however you put chinaman garbage parts on this fine machine. Centric parts is pure doodoo from Chiner. Next time seek out Zimmerman rotors, and Textar brake pads. It's what these vehicles bring from the factory. The pads also have a unique position in the caliper. They have an arrow that should face in the direction of forward rotation. Otherwise, good job.
