Exactly.. The old Black Series looks Hooligan all the way.. while this new C63 AMG S .. just looks.. like a generic lease Mercedes.. which is a shame in my opinion.

***** What has m even done lately the only thing i would even remotely say is a good deal is the m2. The M3 is outclassed in its money range, the m4 is trash, the m5 and m6 are over priced for the numbers they put up.

+UzzyFuzzyy Almost every comparison review has put the new C63 on top of the M4 (including CP). Personally I think they both look great (I own the new C63 coupe and have had an extensive test drive of an M4). The C63's sound blows the M4 out of the ballpark, the C63's suspension is better, its overall grip is better, the interior is classes above the M4's. The C63 is a more enjoyable car on any end of the spectrum whereas the M4 only starts to get interesting when you push it closer to the redline. The M4 might beat it on a track by 1 second but these cars will spend most of their time on the road, not the track...

i cant decide between the c63 amg coupe and the saloon, saloon seems more practical and more spacious but the coupe's rear looks just amazing and aggressive

If you don't need practicality, the coupe is the obvious choice. It's dynamically superior in every way (and this might surprise you but thanks to the brand new suspension setup the ride is actually more comfortable than the saloon's as well).

That is just beautiful and I think I started to like it more than the old one, the C204 Black Series.

The color of the stripes depends on the car color, not if it is an S model or not. Yellow stripes are only available with matte grey paint

I disagree, it feels great from inside. Like I said the only dislike I have for this car is from the outside. If it had the looks of the older version and drive and interior of this one it'd be a perfect car.

Usmaan Zabair, everyone has their likes and dislikes. I've spent a lot of time in the new C class and never much liked it (I have the w209 c63 as comparison).

Now this IS a sexy car! Love the power.

I am going to buy one some day!

I didn't like the stripe but to signify the importance of this car I think it's totally worth it and grew on me :)

Looks nice, I like the stripe. Maybe not yellow, but for that cost you should get to pick the colour. And yes I agree with some other posters. No manual, no point.

Before calling yellow stripes stupid you should know there is always something big behind these little things.

I really am not too fond of the exterior design.... to me it seems like a scaled down version of the s-coupe, however the proportions do not seem to fit the smaller chassis..

BMW is great but they really need to update their interiors and exteriors. AMG has the lead atm.

At first I thought the rear looked really good until somewhere someone said it looks like a cockroach... W204 C63 for me. To me, the w205 is more Mercedes than AMG while the old one is more AMG than Mercedes, more purity, better sound and response. And don't forget in the 4 years, the w205 will be about half of the MSRP. Patience helps.

Pains me to say this, as am a bmer guy all the way but MB are just nailing it at the mo. The c class coupe and the s class coupe just in another league at the moment.

MB really improved their design.

Heard rumours the new C63 Black Series will have the 577bhp engine from the AMG GT-R...

I meant the "hardcore" version previously known as the black series which Im guessing will be called the C63R? They will defo make it, look at the demand for the M4 gts, its all a will they-wont they game...

I do know that something like that is in the works, whether it be R or Black Series. There were some spyshots of a C63S Coupe with a massive wing and slightly camouflaged body kit speeding down the Nurburgring a few months ago. From my understanding, a Black Series will come out, but toward the end of the 7 year Mercedes chassis life cycle. Sort of like a GT2RS competitor, much like the GTR is a GT3 competitor. At least that's my understanding, and I don't know for sure

I don't know where those saying that Black Series is no more got their info from. The Black Series name has not been killed off. Tobias Moers said himself that a GT Black Series is coming as the successor to the SLS Black Series...

It looks much better in real life. trust me. But I will admit, the 3/4 rear is the best angle to look at the back. If you're looking directly at the rear it depends on how close to the car you are.

agree ;) but thats not what they want to hear since their plan is making money ;) fake exhaust tips are much cheaper than the same design connected to the complete system .. ;)

It lost some of its 'aggressiveness' compared to the older black series I think, also not a huge fan of the yellow line. But what a performance and sound! And the interior is again the better one of all the German brands.

The shape of the new car just looks wrong. Especially the rear. 3:11 is where you see the difference. The new one almost looks like an SUV in comparison to the blackseries. So narrow and high.

Missed the chance of comparing both cars in a deeer level. With that being said, I like the new AMG but something about the old AMG engine sound and all over the place tire smoking madness make me like the old one a bit more.

I feel like mercedes has been confused for the past 5 years, and they seem to know what they are doing again. I'm starting to like what they're making, and I used to hate them. Atleast you can justify the crazy maintainance costs with the looks and luxuries now.

i prefer the new c class, e class , and s class look than the old models... i never like the c class look before, now i love how the new model (W205) looks, but i still don't know why mercedes design the new coupe's tail light like that, if they use the same one as the saloon, i think it'll look better..

Idea of improving your content: I understand that going sideways brings a lot of joy, but this automotive-journalism trend of showing off how much you grin or laugh starts getting old, to the point that it starts looking fake. Now I am not saying that nobody should see you smiling or grinning while you drift, but you should also agree that from a content creation & transfer information-about-the-car standpoint a camera shot of "hihihi" has zero value. repackage it differently, maybe smile and tell at the same time how the car behaves differently from other cars while it goes sideways.

almost same price as ferrari.. which to choose c63 s or add some more cash n you can get ferrari. hmmp

It depends what you're looking for. The ferrari would provide an entirely different driving experience and is a much more ostentatious choice but the C63 is a much more 'usable' car, a bit more low-key but still looks great and appropriately sporty.

It's simple the new one is faster and better from the inside but the black series looks better and sounds better it looks more raw and mental..

0 to 60 faster than you could say BORUSSIA MÖNCHENGLADBACH ! My kind of car .

Buy a Merc and hire a tow truck to follow you everywhere you, these cars are designed to hit the repair shop on a regular basis. If you got the money God bless you, but eventually you'll get to be good friends w/your service manager, hopefully he has a hot assistant, that will be your only saving grace while you curse about how wrong you were to buy this over priced piece of crap. Another awesome review by Alex but don't forget he doesn't have to live w/the car for months at a time or even worry about the repair bills....funny how they never mention.

The problem I have with this car is that the moment you take it to a public road it's no longer fun, you just end up with whole lot of unusable power I'd get something like a Cayman instead, not a direct competitor but as nice to be inside as the C63 but offers more real world driving please (Just an opinion. Still love the C63. And the fact that it doesn't make sense makes it even more appealing)

Dmitry L dont forget this car isnt just for drifting and POWER! It also handles well (from the reviews I see) I also know a man that has the regular C63 and everytime I see HIM and ask about the car, he smiles soo hard! soo any car can be enjoyable, the concept just varies from person to person

Nuno Rosário don't get me wrong, I used to own (well, leased) the previous gen C63. Its lots of fun, especially with the 6.2 V8 it sounded great even when on low revs. I loved it to bits. But the new one doesn't have the 6.2 V8 anymore (admittedly, the 4.0 sounds great, but not as good), has more power (little of which is usable) and to my eye, less character. Still loads of fun, especially, since you say, its for drifiting and poweeer stuff. But you aren't really going to drift on a public road, so as I said its much easier to enjoy beautiful chassis balance and handling rather than power. But that's just my opinion, you're absolutely right, different people like different things. C63 is still one hell of a car!

+Dmitry L You have a fair point. But that didn't stop me from buying it :D Been using it as my daily driver since I picked it up in August. It's such a joy to drive and very usable, even when I can't hoon it, that V8 sound alone (even at low revs) is more than worth it, and when I can let loose on some country roads..Then I see what my money went towards!

Is there anyone out there that would actually choose the new car over the old black series!? MB has seriously failed with the new look cars...They were just getting better and better and then they just made them all look almost idenctical and very conservative. Not to mention that they've sold out the AMG brand too....4, 6 and 8 cyclinder AMG cars? Thats not what I remember the brand being about.

Don't know what you bandwagoners are talking about with the rear being ugly. If anything the rear looks better than the front, which makes sense since designers have a lot more latitude when designing the rear as opposed to the front which is subject to safety regs.
