Thanks for the great video! I have to change the front badge (the big star on the grille) on my 2021 W177. Do I have to remove the whole front bumper to change the badge? I’ve seen other videos where people just turn the star counter clockwise… but mine won’t move.

You can remove it without taking the whole bumper off but it is very difficult, I would recommend removing the bumper as it provides access to the rear side of the badge and it is less likely to damage it

@@stealthhtm23 The CLA has a plastic trim on either side running along the top of the wings which is fixed using clips, this needs to be removed and there are 2x t20 bolts holding the top section of the wings to the top section of the bumper. Everything else is identical. Hope this helps

Hi mate got into an accident and my front bumper, badge and grill is moderately smashed, also hood safety mechanism activated so hood is lifted. Any ideas on how much it would cost to replace? What are your prices for replacing the bumper for this car?

Hi jack really good demonstration, wonder if you could help, my activate break assist has stopped working since a bird deciding to hit my car, is it the radar sensor behind the grill badge that would be broken? Hoping this video will help me fix it, thanks

Hey Kyran, thanks for the positive feedback! Sorry to hear that’s happened but I believe you may be correct in saying that the radar sensor may be damaged due to the impact from the bird, however it could be something more simple that the sensor is misaligned and needs clipping back into place, they are very sensitive and need to be within the tolerance of the correct angle in order to function properly! Hope this helps

@@jackgross3140 yes that helps a lot, so you think I may need to just take the bumper off and realign the sensor first? I’m surprised it has stopped working because there is no visual damage on the front of my car

@@Kyran31if there’s no visible damage on the front of the star then it is very likely that you just need to remove the bumper and have a look to see if the radar sensor has moved, the bracket that secures the sensor is held in with just clips so you will be able to see if it’s been pushed out. The sensor it’s self has a little 2 locating pins on one side and then 1 on the top that locks it into place. Hopefully it will be a case of just clipping it back in

Finally got round to doing this, and although I think the sensor wasn’t quite in the right position, it hasn’t made the error message go away unfortunately

This is the best removal video on KZread. thanks Jack! I have a question I was hoping you may be able to assist me with. The multibeam headlights on my a class A250 W177 is damaged on the rear from damaged wheel and guard liner. do you know if I can use a second hand headlight from ebay to replace it? or do I have to buy a brand new one? I saw another KZread video that said you cannot program a used mercedes headlight to another one, apparently it will not function as it should. please advise. The other question is, if I do have to get a new headlight, will I need to get a new range adjuster and led converter or can I work with the old ones. if i do use the old led converter and range adjuster, will the headlight still need to be reprogrammed? Thanks in advance!

Hello! Thank you for the positive feedback! You can indeed purchase a used headlamp from eBay and it will plug and play in your car providing the headlamp is the correct one of course. Just make sure that your control modules are not damaged by water etc and your current headlamp is still functioning as it should. You will simply need to swap the modules from yours onto the new ones

Hello, I am unsure of the exact size but you can use multiple different tools to remove them as long as you remove the middle part first, flat head screw driver would work

No worries, also a good tip is to spray them with WD40 as it helps the middle part slide out without bending or breaking!
