The last year of my perimenopause was the worst time of my life. High levels of anxiety, breast pain, heavy periods, mood changes and don't forget shortness of breath. That is a big one!! I l literally convinced myself that i was always on the verge of a heart attack or stroke due to the heart palps and difficulty breathing. Ladies, vitamin D and probotics were a huge help during this time, also vitamin B12. I am now in menopause and the symptoms are not that bad , but the last year was horrible. Good luck ladies, stay strong, you've got this!

Thank you so much for sharing! I am 54 with horrible cramps and clots, fatigue, heart palpitations and mild night sweats during my cycle. I am so over it! Will take your advice. I am also adding DHA rich fish oil, which I hope will help my cramps. Natural progesterone cream and oral progesterone both made things worse for me. Not doing that again. I remain hopeful that this will be my last year of perimenopausal hell, lol!! 😊

I went through perimenopause for nine years. I’m 56 years old and am now four years post menopausal. Perimenopause was the hardest for me. Broken sleep, hot flashes, heart palpitations, achy joints, etc. I’m now on the other side, and my sleep is still not solid. I don’t drink alcohol, and I watch all my carbs including no sugar. I’m definitely stiffer than I used to be. Estrogen was our lubrication, and now we make less of it. For some reason I still wake up at least once in the night very warm. Ladies, if you’re reading this, not every woman follows in her mother’s footsteps. Both my sister and I had all the signs, but our mother breezed through it.

Eat organic plant vegan, raw till 4, lots of vegan smoothies and real morning sun, no sunscreen. Stay away from anything chemical. Wear a hat instead. Laugh and dance. Nothing healthy about grass fed animals. They all still got vaccines full of VIRUSSES and antibiotics, female hormones and preservatives. Then you eat and store them. Gressfed is labeled after the animal got one week grass!!!! Wake up. Grass fed also means cutting down rainforest in Brazil and other countrys, importing your dead animal parts in who knows what condition, sprayed with who knows what and stealing your and my oxygyn. We're running out. Just so you can eat dead diseased making you sick animal parts. Polluting every lake, ocean and killing the bees and birds. If you want to get sick from any Virus, including the Corona virus keep eating the sticky animal fats with parasites that host VIRUSSES.

I am 48 and hit menopause three years ago. I had a few hot flashes, my libido tanked, and my skin is now saggier. Other than that, it was a breeze. I exercise daily (cardio, HIIT, or strength training), and I eat well. I’ve had Hashimoto’s for about 10 years. I had cortisol testing and had no problems. I have 8 pounds of fat I’d like to lose (I had body composition testing done with a BodPod and was shocked that my fat percent was 29 %), and I’ve lost none in the last 7 months. 😡. I participated in a Zoe Predict study that revealed I have excellent blood sugar and blood fat control. They also tested my gut biome. I definitely need improvement in that area.

I started this transition at 36, with no place to go and the medical doctors (my personal doctor and my OBGYN) all told me I was depressed and needed meds.. knowing myself, I knew I wasn’t depressed. I found Dr. Northrop’s (sp?) book and found some hope. 10 years later, still dealing with this (ugh) however, this has provided a wealth of information and things I can implement going forward. Until you have a hot flash you’ll never understand what it means to have a personal summer 😂 Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Marsha

She nailed it at the end with the Doctor advice. I was told by my primary and Gyno that I was to young. I was 40 when I first mentioned to my primary. Then two years later spoke to my Gyno who wanted to put me on Prozac. I have an extreme high sensitivity to any anti d's and birth controls. I asked about getting blood work done. She said it's not accurate. She then suggested progesterone cream. I told her I would research it more before I decided. I then emailed her a week later and told her I was interested in it and asked her to write me the prescription. She said you can order it on Amazon and didn't recommend an exact brand to me. I was shocked. I am now 43 going on 44. I defiantly know I am going through Perimenopause. Follow your heart ladies. This woman knows her info. Thank you for posting this. 💖

Update? Do you feel the endocrinologist was the right one to go to about this? I have a new UroGynecologist I'm seeing next month and I'm wondering if I shouldn't just book an appt with an endocrinologist as well. I'm losing my mind and I don't trust doctors. They always blame everything on my smoking and anxiety. Well duh... I'm a basketcase with a million symptoms. Obviously now isn't going to feel like the best time to quit smoking. Ugh.

Wow, thank you for this video! I am 40 and about 3 weeks ago I started getting hot flashes and sweats! SO HORRIBLE!!! That is the only peri menopause symptom I have. Then you said too much caffeine can cause them and bingo. I think I found the reason. I am exercising 6 days a week and also taking appetite suppressant pills, with caffeine, plus drinking 2 cups of coffee daily. There! Too much caffeine is the culprit! I am not moody, not depressed, on the contrary, I feel great and energetic, but the hot flashes are the devil! I will reduce my caffeine for sure!

Thank you so much for doing this segment, at 45 I have lots of questions!! LOTS! I also have PCOS and it is hindering my ability to loose weight, I have just learned "to live with it" until recently, so getting my hormones back inbalance has been a huge focus of mine and it seems like not a moment too soon after watching this. When I started my journey into a healthy life style change I found you when working on my emotional eating. I have a really good handle on that now, I have cut out added sugar from my diet, and I am enjoying foods that I never EVER thought I would want to eat. I belong to a few PCOS support groups and a common theme I hear women say is I fell off my diet and gained all the weight I lost plus more ( I have done that so many times in the past too) Or I hear them say they get upset and go on a eating binge or they cant control their sugar cravings.I always refer them back to your site, because I know until you fix the emotional eating and change the "diet" into a life style change that roller coaster will never stop. You have helped me so much in my journey and I hope the ladies I tell to check out your videos and website can walk away with the same story I have. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you for this. This confirmed what I already knew. Estrogen dominance not only affects perimenopause and post menopause but can also cause a whole host of other problems such as fibroids, ovarian cyst, PCOS, endometriosis amongst a few. Everything she said was absolutely true, the key is diet, that is the most important thing.

I'm 46 and have many of the symptoms you talked about, insomnia, anxiety, fatigue and etc. I found myself crying in the middle of the night last week because I thought I was going crazy. I'm sure I'm not depressed yet I feel like crying all the time because my body just doesn't feel right. The worst part is my husband doesn't understand how I feel and thinks I exaggerate everything. When I tell him I suddenly feel very tired he calls it lazy, when I'm having anxiety or insomnia he thinks I'm not mentally stable. This segment clarifies alot of things for me and I feel a whole lot better now. Thank you so so much for speaking on this subject. I truly appreciate it.

I'm not saying i don't have some other symptoms but this one is the worst. I had a heart in 2017 and I'm still on meds so not all herbs can be recommended for me. I'd like to use food as my meds and then implement doctor recommended herbs/meds. Until that time can you list some specific foods to help balance hormones/especially energize me? I'm also T2 diabetic so I'd like to keep the foods low carb. I know soy products cause inflammation so id like to say away from soy. Thank you Dani-you are awesome.

All of these symptoms began end of 2018 at age 43 years old, it started with my periods slightly changing length of days + time it would come. Next in 2019 age 44 years old were the terrible aches and pains all over, insomnia and night sweats. The weight gain began before 40, but suddenly some weight loss mid 2019. I tried keto for 3 months and lost weight, almost like resetting my metabolism , much of the pain went away. Unfortunately I developed pcos and adenomyosis (reproductive issues) both incurable. The pcos caused multiple cysts and one on an ovary had ruptured. All of this is hormone driven. My obgyn didn't and still doesn't want to do anything, but sit and wait. In the meantime my primary sent me for a mammogram and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Hormone receptor positive 95% estrogen influenced. This is nuts. I encourage all to do whatever it takes to balance your hormones and if your current doctor is of no help, please find someone that you're happy with. Take care.

Wow I’m so glad I found this interview. My family’s been in COVID-19 self isolation for the last 3 weeks. Two of those, I’ve been experiencing nearly all of the symptoms explained here. Ramping up of hot flushes, night sweats, irritability, anxiety, mild incontinence, chronic hair loss and fatigue. Some of these symptoms have only just started and some are chronic but possibly confused with WLS. But most of these symptoms I’m now experiencing. Imagine starting hot flushes for the first time within the COVID-19 disaster, it’s so confusing! I knew I was peri menopausal, but it’s getting worse, and suddenly. And I have no family history of menopause, both my mother and Grandmother passed away young, and I have one sister who was born with special needs and has never experienced periods. I’m left a bit lost for experience. I’ve joined the Facebook group, and now might do some research into this phase of life that seems to have struck me hard. Desperate for a natural solution. As far as calorie count, I had a gastric bypass 14 months ago so my calorie count is limited regardless. I’ve also lost 63kg, so I’m in a far better place to be dealing with this phase. Thanks very much for the information, it’s been very helpful. Open to any recommendations proven effective. Kind regards, Annette from South Australia

Before anxiety/panic attacks were sporatic now it's happening often. I've had hot flashes since 25 and night sweats along dizzy spells. 36 years old and sex drive, energy level, and weight is very low. I'm cold all the time. I have a cycle that comes every 2 weeks and sometimes spotting in between. Recently I've noticed a thicker discharge light yellow all the time. Well guess I have a lot more to look forward to. Hopefully by 40 this will stop.....smh this has ruined a marriage and relationships because it's hard to explain and I get no breaks.

I started experiencing ALL the symptoms of menopause after my Uterine Fibroid Embolization procedure a couple months ago. I requested a blood work by my Primary Doctor to figure out what is going on with my body, but the tests came back normal (FSH & LH) 😭. I’m miserable and feel so alone and misunderstood...so I’m glad I came found this page for the support. In the meantime, I was prescribed anti-depressants until me and my doctor can figure out a plan of action. I’m definitely going to try that progesterone cream.

Cruciferous vegetables and high fiber diets trigger endometriosis pain. I'm currently trying to get a handle on perimenipause combined with endometriosis. I've seen 5 different doctors who have completely opposite approaches and it is extremely frustrating. There is clearly a bias in research against testosterone treatment in women and most research on endometriosis is associated with fertility. I've been struggling for more than 6 months and can barely do my job at this point between emotional rollercoaster, stress, and managing doctors appointments and self care. I've been told I don't need birth control and I need to have my tubes tied. I am so incredibly angry that this is so hard to navigate.
