This topic of shaming and comparison is relevant to everyone, not just mom's so it is a great choice of topic. The Deuteronomy passage makes me think of the times people in our lives point out God at work in the moments we are living. For instance, it was common, at one time for a friend to say, when something you needed was given at just the right time, "Do you see how God provided for us here?" or when out for a walk, "Look at those flowers! God's creation is so beautiful". In all circumstances it was normal to bring God into the conversation.

Please continue with this platform. Young ladies as well as the older generation need to hear how we can hold to our modesty upbringing and not conform to worldly shaming. As a grandmother and mother to four children, I believe in mothers being homemakers. I know it is not choice for many but working mothers need encouragement as well. Again, thank you for this episode and best wishes on the future videos.

I love Jayna’s comment about choosing to take her advice from the moms that she can see are doing something that works/ how the parenting tips they recommend pan out for them in everyday life. And basically that you don’t have to be perfect to be a good mom.

Aw, this was such a wonderful video! I loved getting to know Jayna! And what a pretty name! She has a very sweet spirit, like you, Megan. I hope you all do lots more of these episodes. When you were talking about comparison and being shamed over not being a better mom, etc., it made me think of my friend who is feeling such guilt over not having done all she feels she should have through the years in mentoring her children, teaching them about the Lord, etc. I reminded her that more lessons are caught than taught, and all these years she HAS been mentoring them by living out a Christian life in front of them, mistakes and all. Our kids need to see that we fail, and they need to see how we handle those failures. Having to go back and tell them we are sorry keeps us humble. I have had to apologize to our dear son countless times through the years, and all those moments have been live demonstrations of what the grace of God is all about and has strengthened our bond and relationship. God is so faithful to redeem all of our blunders and mistakes and make it all work together for not only our good but the good of our children, too. Keep up the great work, you two! And may God bless you both and your families!

I enjoyed this! Megan I like how you say to your kids that they can do “one more fun thing” before you leave. I think the sounds much nicer than reminding them that they have only 5 minutes left. Especially if they don’t have a concept of time. I love hearing how other moms parent. We learn from each other and we can take one or two things from everyone I think. I’m interested to hear what it was like for someone to be adopted into a Mennonite family. Sounds like an interesting story if your cousin is willing to share. Good luck with this new series.

Really enjoyed this! Hope you can do more! This is how I know the meals of the day to go.... Breakfast, brunch, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, supper, and midnight snack. Doesn't mean that you have to eat all the meals but that's the order I'm familiar with.

You ladies are so sweet and I completely agree with everything you discussed. I'm originally from York, PA so I grew up around your culture although I wasn't part of it. I'd like to think of us as great friends if I ever lived there again. I'd love to see you guys more. I just enjoyed listening to you two chat as I worked today. My husband always brags on how smart our daughter is and then brags on me and how awesome of a mom I am because I spend a lot of time with them and explain things to them so they understand. It's helped them to learn so quickly and see more of the world around them. They are especially curious about animals and nature right now which has been so fun. And I'm learning too because they ask me things I don't really know much about.

This was a fun video. I liked the discussion about shaming vs. convicting.

I love this chatty format! It reminds me of Dawn the Minimal Mom's videos with her sister Diana - we need these positive examples of female friendship, as well as the encouragement you give.

I’ve enjoyed this chat time so much. Thank you. It’s “dinner” in our home. When you go to a restaurant, you get a dinner menu, not a supper menu.😁

I can SO relate to your comment about being scared of having a distant or nonexistent relationship with your kids when they’re grown. That’s something that is on my mind a lot as I decide what things to make time for in a day/ week. It has also influenced the decisions I make regarding family size and spacing between kids.

Love it 🥰 Can’t wait for the next one and would love to hear more about the adoption! I am one of those too! God bless both of you as you continue living for Him and nurturing your little “lambs” for Him 💕

Adorable! You girls are so sweet. I’m 67 and I have 2 daughters in-law that are so much like you. Thank you for being so open about your faith. How do people survive the world we are in today if they do not know the Lord. Love from Tennessee.
