Music is the universal language, and classical music is the highest form of this language.

Great piece of music. Some musicologists believe he wrote it at age 17. According to Henle, he wrote an early version just before turning 19 and finished it at age 21.

I use a 10.2 inch iPad (it's fine but I'd like a bigger one) and I use a PageFlip Firefly to turn pages with my foot and forScore app to upload the music. I did a video on this: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oXZ11dmne8qTg5c.html

I'm trying to learn the Sonata Op. 6. I thought that such a mature work with a low opus number might have been written when he was young and later revised, like the Brahms op. 8 trio. But apparently it was composed when he was 17. Good grief.

Mendelssohn was definitely a child prodigy. Sadly he only lived to be 38. I wonder what he could have written!

@@LearnLoveMusic I often find myself wondering similar of Schubert, Chopin and Schumann! How much more might they have given/left to us? Your channel is a new 'discovery' for me today. Having only recently arrived to Mendelssohn, I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for putting in your time and energy. Looking forward to exploring your other videos. Subscribed.
