The 2020 Tokyo gold medalist Shin from South Korea had undergone a spinal fusion surgery when he was 18 years old from an injury (herniated disc and spondylolisthesis) that could have ended his career but instead of giving up on his dream he did rehab and now what he has done for the country! He is a true legend:)

The commentators mentioned that Nikita Nagornyy didn’t perform to his full potential at these Olympics after the Team gold and I guess that is true but I think he performed a lot better than you’d normally expect someone with a kidney stone and a fever to perform

agreed - it's almost as bad as skateboarding - 10 falls in a row and they still get medals. such inconsistencies among sports. one bad dive and you're out. someone trips you in a race; you're out. i feel badly for the first vaulter - his score was miles ahead but couldn't follow it up.

Horrid and shameful.

Adem Asil's failure to capture a medal hurts me the most. Amongst all the guys competing in vault at the Olympics, he had 3 highest scored in 2021: 15.266 at Olympic VT final (his 1st on this video), 15.166 at the Osijek Challenge, 15.100 at Olympic QF. Shin's best in 2021 was 15.100 at Olympic QF; Yulo got 15.066 at All Japan Team Championships, 15.033 at World Championships VT Final, & 15.000 at All Japan Senior Championships; Nagornyy and Davtyan both have 15.000 as their 2021 best at European Championships and Olympic QF respectively. The others never received more than 15.000 as I've known of.

I would have awarded Abliazin gold instead. He looked like he had more power and height on his vaults

Yulo had the highest score in the individual vault score (14.866) but unfortunately he kinda made a mistake during his first vault... And as far as i remember, he's injured that time... Too bad,, Well, i hope he wins a medal at the paris Olympics

Is anyone else noticing that the posted final scores are incorrect? The final scores are suppose to be the average of the two vaults but that isn't what is shown - the calculations are wrong. For example, Shin's final score should be 14.808 not 14.783. Look at timestamp 37:27 and do the math. Unless there's something missing in my understanding of how these scores are done, please correct me.
