Men’s Mini Box Braids Tutorial on Short Hair | Protective Natural Hairstyles for Teen Boys & Men

In this video, I am showing how I get super neat and flat Mini Box Braids / Plaits on my son’s Type 4 natural hair. This protective style is very popular and was the winner of a poll that I placed on my community tab. Mini braids usually lasts about 2 weeks in my son’s hair and it took about 2 hours to complete.
A strong plait foundation and precise parts are what makes this style. Also it’s important to braid the plait all the way to the end to ensure the plaits don’t unravel.

Thankyou so much. I attempted to do this on my sons hair... it came out ok.... bit after watching i will re-do them. They are so neat, I also done over and not underbraiding, so will try this. He is mixed race and has Caucasian hair like myself so wondering if this would work better also... thankyou 🙏🏽 Godbless you.

Yay! Thank you so much for watching!! Also, i would suggest rubber bands on the ends on his hair if he has a really soft texture so the braids don’t unravel
And yes!! Underbraiding is definitely tighter and neater. That’s a fact!!

You don’t, but my son likes his length to show so that’s why his hair was blow dried

@@DatMikeyy you could always try! My best advice would be to get the hair as straight as possible with the blow dryer so your length shows!

i use to like my braids in my face until they got longer and then i didn’t care and want them anymore it gets annoying lol
