Yea this made me sad
Amazing. I raced BMX as a kid 40 years ago, back then the sport was dominated by Americans like Stu Thomsen and Greg Hill and raced on real dirt tracks. Now we see riders from all around the world and it is raced on synthetic tracks. The control these riders have over their machines is incredible, the sport has totally transformed and now is an Olympic sport. I never would have guessed this 40 years ago.

I want to thank Japan and all the fantastic crews. Amazing production quality to showcase the athletes in these Olympics. Best I've seen, bravo! The Matrix style multi-camera pan is a work of art! The love and dedication to every sport I've watched. It has truly touched my heart all the way here down under. Thank you.
6:29 this is when he wins. He absorbs the jump more aggressively than any other rider, allowing him to get his weight back on the ground quicker, allowing a few peddles before the next section; everybody else coasts. From then on out he was perfect and couldn’t be caught. 🇳🇱

WOW! I don't know much about bmx racing. However, THIS was VERY exciting to watch! Congratulations guys! 😃🙌🏽🚴🏾♂️🥇🥈🥉
The physical output in only 40 seconds is mind blowing. They were still heaving for air at the end of the ceremony. Crying didn't help I guess. 10 years later as an engineer I can truly appreciate how much power the track throws at you to absorb. While you add as much extra as you can... Truly remarkable.

Let's not forget the freak accident of Kiemma with an official in which he broke his knee. Truly magnificent comback!
What a race!!
Bravo à tous les pilotes, continuez de nous faire rêver !
I'm proud that the first BMX Olympic champion ever in 2008 and then champion again in 2012 is Latvian 🇱🇻 Māris Štrombergs 🤗 This year the same happened in 3x3 men's basketball - for ever the first Olympic champions came from Latvia 🇱🇻🎉🎉🎉
Amazing Skill...greetings from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Kimman getting gold over Whyte was foreshadowing what would happen on the 12th of December in Abu Dhabi
Wonderful race congratulations, thanks for sharing thrilling video 👌👌👌
That launch is serious ❗️
I am a road/tt rider and this is fricken bananas.
makes me emotional to see a hellow Colombian win an Olympic medal in BMX!!! Here in Colombia we enjoy riding bicycles a whole lot and bmx is big but a lot of kids don't join the sport or don't take it serious because they don't have the support or they have to work. Imagine the talent we could have. We do have more track cyclist and MTB cyclist so that's pretty big but not as big as it should be.

your guy done the best job he took four places in that first turn, then managed to negotiate the faller in front in the last turn, amazing
@4:42 - #8 - Ridiculous! That dude absolutely shreds! (Jumps double, lands in manual)
Great job
To the Olympics channel, the destruction of all channels was because they over did the drip drip drip.

If you showed me one of those bikes with zero context I would think it was designed for a child. Amazing that they can fly those little things and keep them stable in the air.
Yes! Netherlands!
Great ride from Niek... but I suspect Whyte would have run him closer if he hadn't overjumped the second set.
They are so fast
Gotta respect Kai white

Great race. Too bad Connor Fields couldn't compete but his arrogance towards his fans saying that are expecting him to return for Paris 2024 was very rude.

When did they change it from doing laps? Would rather watch that than this format.
Time for a change! I lived the sport and had so much fun but it’s time. These tracks need to be 3 times as long so that the rider in first through third can have lead changes and it be more about endurance. I also think all races should be in dirt.the race needs to last more than 15 seconds. Some small changes could go a long way
