Men Of Gloucester (1949)

Describes a deep-sea fishing trip with a highly trained Gloucester fishing crew. The home life and religious ceremonies of these people who live in the Cape Ann section of Massachusetts are also portrayed.

    at around 2:30 we see main street with a sign that reads Barker's. in the 60's this spot would have been occupied by Rexall Drug and the Tic Toc restaurant. the front area of Rexall's was called The Waiting Station.

    I am surprised as I left Gloucester many years ago.When the next the generation invaded my city it was time to move on.Made me sad😞

    @@kennethstickney8819 do you ever return to visit? I try to spend the day every summer. you might find it interesting to watch the old route 66 episode that was filmed there, early 60s. its on YT called Once to Every Man. lots of scenes of old rocky neck.

    The credits indicate it was fixed in 1946 but that sure looks like a 1949 Ford. either way the story is told very well.

    3:28 into the video . Hoiw did they figure Gloucester was born in 1610----- 10 years before the Pilgrims landed My computer says 1642
