Man I remember the first time I listened to this album. It was seven months ago, the summer of 2020, and I had never been more stressed about university. One night I got high off my ass and played the whole thing through, just vibing to it. Didn't have any other thoughts, just Oncle Jazz. I come back to this when I just need to chill out. I'm going to be okay.

Im portuguese, i'm 36 and i found this band just because it started playing on a mix playlist. The song was Show Me How. I immediately fell in love. 🥰 Now i listen to every album and i can't get enough. I listen to heavy metal and i find myself doing whatever and listening to Men I Trust. It was love at first sight. I usually dream of dancing to Men I Trust on the empty streets at night or driving and watching the streetlights go one by one. Time stands still. I am one with the Universe.
Fiero GT has some guitar playing that sounds exactly like Don Felder. Wild!
If everything goes well, in 4 months I'll be graduating from university. Something I used to believe I wasn't capable of achieving due to my inability to focus. Ever since the first time I listened to this album, I've been playing it on repeat whenever I had to study. Especially on sleepless nights before exams. It's always been an awful struggle for me to focus and concentrate, but listening to oncle jazz makes it easier. Whether it's placebo or not, it makes my life better. Thank you ❤

I particularly liked more the singles alone, like "Tailwhip", "You deserve this" and "I hope to be around". 'Cause to me, the singles sound more natural. In the album they're more artificial. I dunno. Maybe the new drum gave a new feeling to it that I didn't like that much

It's out on Spotify check it out
this band has been on my recommended for a while now and i've been resisting the urge to check them out. today autoplay made the choice for me. i think a part of me had a feeling i'd fall in love with their sound, and here i am experiencing auditory romance like a falling for a high school crush. something transcendent i felt was inevitable as soon as i let my guard down.
34:57 dont mind this just a timestamp for me for possibly the best 4 back to back tracks ive ever heard
this album saved me from a very hard moment of my life
you ever find yourself walkin in an airport , head down in ur phone tryna find some jams to deal with all the people and without realizing you wind up on one of those flat escalators. just straight gliding thru the spot. that's what this albums like.
I like that it's more musically complex than most dream pop

This is no mere "dreampop" album, it exists outside of conventional genres and cliches. This is a masterpiece, consisting of pop, jazz, funk, rock & folk elements married together cohesively to create a new sound. The "men i trust" sound!!!

@@AGoNYC That's really close to what I think, as well. They kinda don't fit the Dream Pop genre itself anymore. They're more than this. Haha

More of a Homeshake/Mild High Club copy than anything else. Really nicely and tightly executed tho.

Leandro Sosa Imperio Yet from my listens, they’re better than both those bands. Maybe I haven’t listen to the right songs by those bands, but it was very easy to find Men I Trust songs that are great.

@@RainerRilke3 This is far less psychedelic than Mild High Club, and is fairly different from most of Homeshake's stuff. It takes a pretty uninformed mindset to say something like this.
Learning bass guitar and this is one of those albums/bands that makes you want to practice again (more).
This sounds lovely, ethereal, magnificent, graceful, glorious, heavenly, fascinating, dazzling alluring, cute, or let's just say beautiful. It's gold.
I’m going to personally get this to 1mil views

I am dead sure this album in years to come will be reckoned as a timeless classic. I haven't felt this way about an entire album since I first heard an entire Pink Floyd / Police (Zenyatta Mondatta) album end to end.

This is a really cool album and all but comparing it to Pink Floyd in terms of quality or “classicness” is a bit much
Smoothest intro to an album that i've ever heard. My goodness this whole album kicks so much ass. Every single track delivers the goods. 10 out of 10!!!
Men i trust gives me a nostalgic feeling. The same feeling like the one Boards of Canada gave me years ago, a feeling of nostalgia about a place and a time that i have never experienced.

Sleep ON something means to miss it and then finding out later on when it's less relevant. You probably mean sleep TO.

Long time listener of Jazz Fusion here. This is a masterpiece and a future timeless classic.
I'm so glad I found this, I lost my dear mother last year, May 19th will make one year she's been gone. This entire album is AMAZING and it soothes my depression. Great music 💕

absolute masterminds; those melodies are genius.. & literally feeling the basslines EVERYWHERE
This album is my happy place. Thank you 'Men I Trust.' Thank you for this piece of joy.
Everyone deserves to have an Oncle like Oncle Jazz
I have a newfound love for this album after seeing them live in Melbourne. Top five gigs in nearly 20 years of seeing bands live, top three bands I wish we could keep in Australia so I could catch them live routinely, and now one of my favourite albums of all time. Man, Men I Trust are something special.
Listening to this while Im practicing in Duolingo... priceless...
