Lyrics
Had she lost another one
She would’ve end just like her son
Bitter man now turned insane
(the) Day his dog took on the train
Had she lost another one
She would’ve end just like her mom
Dyed the hair to look as young
Inhaled fumes and spoiled a lung
By grace, she was spared
A few toes, a few
To care
Had she lost another one
Insurance lawyers would have won
Settle quick, the course was cheap
Didn’t bother to go deep
I saw the home she’s from
No place for one to hum
That pride so deer to some
She learned to overcome
Fate unearned
By grace, she was spared
A few toes, a few
To care
By grace, she was spared
A few toes, enough
To care

@unfinishedproductions8988

@@kevingibson4549 the band didnt have emma for those (besides a feature on head room i believe) and obviously they sound different as those are more eltronic, tech, and just jesse and drago playing. Oncle jazz and so on are more like indie, stoner, pop, and do sound similiar because, you might of guessed it, they are in the pop genre. I love men i trust and this is in no way a dig at them. Some people hear the word pop and assume its unoriginal, repititive, bad, but it just means simple chord progressions. Play on!

I love men i trust songs because they truly tell a story, and the music is just so relaxing and peaceful. They are really turning into one of my favorite bands ever. Thank you youtube for this recommendation. And thank you to this band for helping get through these last couple of weeks. Your music is very healing.

Feels like my childhood in the 70’s in my mother’s cult. And how I would play in fields alone as a 6 yr old and met a college student who taught me more about bugs. She even took me to school and showed me specimens in jars and such. A strange yet innocent time.

Ah yess another music to vibe with at 3am
this makes me feel like i’m floating through space. it’s perfect.
This is such a blessing that i know they exist.
I decided to try soloing over this song on the first listen and it turned out to be one of my best solo experiences I’ve had since high school jazz. This song is musical gold.
I adore the art for this :) got the shirt 4 Christmas and it's so cute
Copy and pasted my reply on the interpretation, would love to hear what others think: it looks like a lot of unfortunate things happened to Sue and her family but she's "lucky" because in each situation she was either strong enough to endure it (her bad childhood that she learned to grow from, as mentioned at the end) or she was "lucky" she didn't end up worse (she would've looked just like her son, who succumbed to mental illness, or her mom which seems to me a mom who has serious drug issues and doing things no person should do to get them). She lost alot of things in her life, her son, her mom, she had a really bad childhood, she settled something with insurance lawyers (losing money?). 'Fate unearned' means shes a good person that didnt deserve any of this happening to her. My guess is she's just so used to losing things and despair that nothing that happens to her can be considered a loss in her eyes. Hence why shes "lucky" that the things in her life didnt tip her over the edge, like it did her mom and son. At the end it looks like she has to cope by convincing herself that as long as she has a 'few toes' nothing can affect her, despite the fact that so much bad has happened. She considers it grace (luck) that she still has her being.

This might be a dumb question but does it literally mean toes? (as in, she had to lose some) Or is that just representing Sue's physical body intact?
@FaIsALl115
3 жыл бұрын
@@phira360I have the samd question too, is it represnting how stable she is with this tragedies being her toes off of her
@Optim121
3 жыл бұрын
@@phira360 depends on how you interpret it. To me it sounds more metaphorical than literal. She considers herself 'lucky' because at least she can still take care of something in her life. Even after she lost so many bigger things, like her childhood, mom, and son, she convinces herself that it's not as bad as it is by telling herself at least she has something of her own being. It's just a way for her to not tip over the edge.
The album cover looks so psychedelic and interesting.... i personally think the cover goes well with the music.... I believe the girl behind the curtain is Sue.... she sees the world differently unlike other people that "lost" their way, like her mom and son.... she sees things realistically but at the same time imaginative... the reason why i believe she's behind the curtain is because she is observing the people that she had lost.... her mom being a drug addict and her son that falls into insanity.... she is ahead from other people because Sue doesn't let all the harsh things in life gets her sanity.... she considered herself lucky when actually the situation is not all that sunshine and butterflies (her mom's addiction, son's bitter personality, insurance problem).... but shes grateful for herself and called herself lucky.... the other woman in the pic may be her mom.... and the boy behind may be her son.... but shes not like them where they were placed in the curtains, but shes behind the curtain... observing and not losing her sanity.... just my opinion though haha

My mind and heart flooded with guilt.for trash talking god in the rain on a drunken rage. I was afraid and really regretted saying those things in my mind that night . I cried and repented and asked for forgiveness.. i cried and felt a weight lifted off of me...now i look.into tje the bible for awnsers. I looked for what is love.
