Lyrics:
Who can it be knockingat my door?
Go away, don't come 'round here no more
Can't you see that it's late at night?
I'm very tired and I'm not feeling right
All I wish is to be alone
Stay away, don't you invade my home
Best off if you hang outside
Don't come in, I'll only run and hide
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?"

I was a young teen in the 80's and was so happy to see a lead singer with a wandering eye like I had. I looked up to him. At least I tried.

It's not that people didn't give Colin the Kudos he deserved, it was that Men At Work saturated the airwaves during a period of time in the '80's with all of their hits. People became "tired" of them and moved on. It is refreshing to hear their sound once again.
En 1981, j'avais 13 ans et j'écoutais la radio FM française...Men At Work s'imposa sur les ondes radiophoniques, et nous fit découvrir le rock australien. 🎷💫✨ Who can it be now ? 🤔

Headcanon: The person who let the dogs out, is the SAME person who was at the door. The Spice Girls want to know who it is; the Fox knows, and says their name. But obviously there's a massive conspiracy to conceal the truth!

I was a young teen in Pakistan when I heard this song first time . Such an incredible voice and then the sax. This song was imprinted in my memory forever and now I'm 53. Just found it here today by chance and have already played it 7 times. Same vibes as first time.

Another song about the conflicted feelings of a loner. You want to be left alone, and really you'd be satisfied if you were, but part of you wishes someone would come and take you out of your loneliness. Sometimes people are interesting, sometimes they are repulsive. It's the throws and tides of human beings that keep you from wanting to meet people. People are predictable and yet still alien, worth your time and not. You don't think yourself a king, but you're no peasant. If people want to meet you they can. The hermit atop the mountain. A tough journey to make for sure, but those who even attempt it find it rewarding one way or another. Conveniently, these are just the kind of people you want to meet.

You're projecting so hard. It's about mental health deterioration. Listen to the lyrics because at no point in time is it expressed anything other than paranoia and interest in isolation.

@@kevinkerwin4118 Uh, absolutely? I don't see the problem here. Songs can be interpreted differently, alongside the official meaning (if any, a lot of artists don't bother, or it isn't obvious). I had listened to a lot of songs with similar themes to this one, so I just wrote what I was feeling here, because this is just another song about being alone.
