Saw this report yesterday on Twitter. So disgusting that someone as young as 15 went with the intention of getting his EX back, then had the idea of retaliation in the event she rejected him. So disgusting. Have seen similar things on twitter of men asking for a women's hand in marriage in Egypt then killing them once they were rejected. To think anyone has the right to another person's attention, love, and space is disgusting.

I saw a couple of videos from India where young teenage girls turned down much older men for marriage, and one was beaten to death in public and nobody helped her, and the other had her head chopped off, and the man was carrying her head around in public.

@@copperredd Of course. One of our great stumbling blocks is ego and capitalism. A system that is encourages arrogance and ego that gives me the unfortunate opportunity to exert power and exploitation over other men and women. It pushes a hierarchical structure of false importance that stifles empathy and emotional intelligence/regulation. We'd do well by women and ourselves if we got rid of this oppressive system and installed one more egalitarian and equitable. But in order to do that, the most marginalized people need to be at the helm driving the ship.

I’m so happy someone said it. My brother refused to speak to me for almost a year because I told him to calm down, and stop getting so emotional when he had an adult tantrum when he asked me for something, and I said no. He said I was trying to emasculate him, and I was being disrespectful. He’s 40…. and still refuses to take no for an answer, he literally has a tantrum like a toddler without the crying and rolling on the floor. It doesn’t matter how inappropriate it is, where we are, who’s around, he even had a tantrum in front of my job once, and I was convinced he was trying to sabotage my employment because I out-earn all of my brothers. For the record my brother only speaks to me when he needs something financial. And he hates black women with his whole chest since discovering the manosphere.

And in my traditional family of mostly women, men are valued above all else, because in my very large family, we’ve never given birth to many boys. So I for sure would be put out in the cold from my whole family for him, which is how he got this way.

It’s really sad and scary. I had a co-worker who flipped on me one day out of the blue talking abt how he knew I liked him and we were going to be in a relationship. He literally said he wanted to f*ck me. Mind u we were in his car coming from a party at another co-workers place. Surprised is an understatement. I was so scared, I really thought he was going to r*Pe me in the highway. I’m still in disbelief to this day. I really started questioning myself,if I led him on or something.

Ma'am I don't trust men as far as I can throw them. Hell even women I don't trust. Handle unhappy people with kid gloves people who are always complaining. People going through stressful situations. My parents are becoming more fustrated with not being able to do things in their 70s and I give them a whole lot of space. I had to learn to accept help after finding out that I'm neurodivergent. My ex got so upset with me for trying to talk to him about spending more time together, that he played the entire Hamilton soundtrack loudly in the car, for 3 hours on the way back home. He didn't talk to me once, and he didn't even sleep next to me in the house. It was the most exaggerated over-reaction to anything I had ever seen in my life. And I'll never forget it. It was just... odd. Yes. Many men are a lot more sensitive than women. And many are also horrible communicators. More than we know.

Listen men are EXTREMELY sensitive.

Every time some dude asserts that "females" are "more emotional" I just reply, "I've never felt nervous in a room full of women."

"Maleosphere", brilliant and accurate. I had this same revelation after brickgate. Women are not more emotional than men, we are just more communicative. The world would be so much safer if only men had the ability to verbalize their feelings (or just walking away) instead of acting out.

The timing of this is cosmic. Just a few days ago a 15 year old girl in Croydon was stabbed to death by a 17 year old boy, while on her way to school in the morning because she no longer wanted to date him. One minute he was offering her flowers, the next he took her life. You have to wonder what influenced him to even think of doing that.

THIS is why it is so very important for boys to have positive male guidance. My family is 85-90% female, but the men in my family that i interacted with as a child were decent, strong men. Mainly my father. He was flawed, of course, but he instilled in me common sense, critical thought. Thank God.

Glad this is something in the air. It’s getting tiring dealing with my male friends misdirecting their anger/hurt on women when we could be finally burning down the system. Hope more men can get out of their ego, and realize women (especially black women) are not their enemy.

I was working at the front desk, dude didn't say excuse me or anything, just stood there. I turned because I was reading something on the computer screen and I answered, "yes?". Dude was like, "wHy ThE aTtidUe?". I wanted to laugh in his face so bad. Like really?? The total nonsense of it all.

It's wild out here. I get publicly harassed by BM frequently just for going about my day. They literally act as if anything we do for ourselves or by ourselves is a threat. Even things as simple as enjoying a walk on a public trail.

I'm not a fan of guns, but if anyone should be having guns, it's women, especially single women. Stand your ground ladies!! Don't be a victim, be a hero.

As a man that just turned 35 last Sunday, it pains me to admit that this entire video is the God's honest truth. My favorite game franchise, Mortal Kombat just released a new title and before it came out, there was a rather interesting and exhausting discourse surrounding the appearance of the female characters, especially the lone Black female character, Tanya. Ever since Mortal Kombat X, the women in the game have been given less-revealing outfits that directly tie in with their role in the story and character archetype, including in this new game where all the women are pretty much just as covered up as the male characters. There was a reveal trailer in which Tanya was revealed, but since she wasn't shown in a glammed-out manner, there were a bunch of repugnant comments made about how she was ugly, all the women in Mortal Kombat are ugly, the MK girls aren't sexy anymore, and the like. And yes, there were more than a few comments directed at how the feminists that created the game didn't want the women to be attractive. I even got into several back-and-forths with with dudes that proceeded to tell me how men prefer their women to be sexy and that women need to make themselves 'presentable' in public. It became very clear to me that these guys felt entitled to determine how women look and were angry at the idea that they couldn't have control over them. Then I realized that since antiquity, the entire idea about what is considered 'feminine' has been wholly shaped by the male gaze and men's desires and requirements, no matter how harmful they may be. Point is, I am heavily disappointed in men, especially those that find themselves aligning with what I call the 'Penisphere'. Good/decent men do exist, but are too damn silent in confronting the Andrew Tate/Sneako/Fresh N'Fit acolytes out there that they know. The moment that this changes, men will be better not just to women but to themselves and the world.

Yet another example of the ergreious BS cops can and will pull and why we need to stop with the "a few bad apples" BS. A few bad apples spoil the barrel -- and the barrel has be spoiled. It's particularly startling considering that US cops are trained locally, there isn't one national academy doing this -- it's a systemic, engrained, network that took time and effort to build. It all needs to be pulled down and dragged out into the light. This also tracks right back to defund the police / refund social services. Sometimes cops are put in impossible situations -- cops get funding for social services they aren't trained to handle, and even assuming you have a cop who wants, with the best will in the world to do the right thing, does not have the skills to escalate, doesn't have services to bring in as reinforcements, doesn't understand the situation and sees the behavior of a mentally ill person as not compliant, or worse, verging into potential violence -- this is unjustifiable in a country with so much wealth. Much, much poorer countries with their own blotted histories manage not to murder the mentally ill on the regular, to take charge of a volatile psychiatric situation and safely remove the patient to a treatment facility.

I read The Will to Change based on a previous mention you made to it. Great book! My biggest takeaway was that patriarchy is reinforced by society (both men and women) and really doesn't benefit the majority of men. I won't excuse any violence or intimidation used against women but there is a dissatisfaction among men who don't live up to the patriarchal view of who they should be (again reinforced by both men and women) and these communities speak to that dissatisfaction as it is mostly unaddressed. Woman's independence is a good thing and relatively new and it's going to take time to catch up with what is and is not acceptable. Especially as woman are becoming more educated than men and larger financial earners. If I read correctly black woman are already out-earning black men on average and have long surpassed them in education. Society is changing but not all views have caught up yet. Those men left behind are finding community in the wrong places.

Absolutely. The ways in which women reinforce systems that do not serve us (patriarchy) is something that needs to be discussed more. So glad that you took a chance on the recommendation to read the Will to Change, because I think it offers a very useful starting point to getting both men and women to confront the reality that our current, highly prescribed, notions of masculinity (and femininity, to be honest) hurt us all.

I’m disgusted that these books have been out forever talking about this and I’m just now learning about it as a woman in my 30s. When I was dating in my 20s I thought something was wrong with me. I felt forced to be in unsafe situations just to find “the one”. Now that I’m married with a daughter, I look at men differently and it’s turning into paranoia. I’m terrified she will have to suffer the (and I’m not even exaggerating) PURE HELL my mother, aunts, cousins, sisters, and best friends have been through (both black and white) dealing with men. I told my husband I may have to go to jail when she starts to date cause my PTSD will NOT be able to handle it. I also feel guilt because I brought her into this unsafe world and one day she will have to survive it without me or her father 😢. Women need to come together and create male free communities for our future daughters so that they can live free and only have to deal with men when they choose. I know this sounds like segregation but I don’t think most men should have access to women AT ALL without a chaperone… I don’t know what else to do. We can’t let this continue!!!

A brilliant commentary on men's emotionality and how patriarchy harms women and also everyone. I'm a retired soldier, so I can vouch for the extreme version of all negative feelings being routed to anger and anger being exploited to create men who can perform acts of deadly violence on demand. In many circles, anger is the only negative emotion that men are ALLOWED to express. The few of us who have some awareness of this dynamic of the patriarchy are also trapped in it. You knew that identifying men as emotional would be potentially inflammatory at the beginning of this video, particularly to men... that's because emotional men (meaning men who EXPRESS a full range of emotions) are not generally respected by men or women in our society. A man who does not have the respect of other men and women is very unlikely to be able to succeed in his endeavors in our society... (no money, no sex, no fulfillment). Then incel, then anger (the 'acceptable' emotion), then violence. So yeah, stay safe out there. The block is indeed hot, and the temperatures rising.

One aspect of life that I think all men and boys need to always practice is introspection. Since boyhood we’re taught to put more importance into performance (outward perception) and it creates sense of lacking that carries into adulthood when we fail to measure up in any sense (physique, finance etc). When we can look inward and acknowledge our insecurities and shame, and learn to live above them, then the anger and violence stops. Appreciate the vid and shoutout to Black Woman. Ok bye 🖤

Thank you for talking about the book men who hate women. I can't tell you how often this book is overlooked in a lot of these conversations, especially on KZread and social media. As a black woman, chapter 9 was exceptionally eye-opening for me. But I remember I stopped talking to my friend because she believes that having this type of concern is all in our head and now it's something that will become more frequent because of how capitalism and patriarchy is impacting everyone. A story that I can't really get out of my head ever since I saw it and heard about it was the Lauren Landavazo. This whole thing just blows my mind

Adults control themselves. Everyone else is a child. I've met too many men and women who have no control of themselves. The problem is that emotionally unstable women are far less dangerous than emotionally unstable men. Yeah, they're annoying, and they need grow tf up. But their violence is inconsequential compared to a man's.

I told my ex that he should go to therapy. He said therapy was fine for me because I'm a woman and more emotional. The funny thing is, I'm pretty stoic. But he's had a number of interesting outbursts and was kidnapped as a child. Then he would get drunk and feel sorry for himself. I informed him if you include anger and depression in the lexicon of emotions, men are pretty emotional. ALL people can be emotional. We broke up after that. I had to block him.

Men and women are emotional in different ways. Women are more easily able to identify their own emotions, which is why we have more emotional expressiona nd control. While men can not identify their own emotions as readily, and this causes them more frustration, anger, sadness, insecurity, etc. This is why they're so much more emotionally reactive. (also scientifically studied and proven). This is also why while women statistically lead in depression, men lead in self deletion and in the deletion of others. They decide themselves into believing that a lack of emotional intelligence and control is equal to being less emotional.

I'm a woman with Borderline/ Emotionally Unstable Personality disorder. Men are mostly terrified of me. 😅As a child I was not taught to validate my feelings, think about other people's feelings, regulate my feelings and tolerate discomfort, distress and unpleasantness in healthy functional way. So you can imagine how that played out in my adult relationships. I'm also neurodivergent and a trauma survivor so that added 2 layers of complexity. I've been single for the last nearly 10 years. Men are a walking trigger for me and lack a lot of emotional intelligence whereas every day I have to work on my emotional intelligence and track my mood. Men in relationships feel entitled to so many things that i don't see how they wouldn't act out if i couldn't do something because I'm busy regulating my own emotions. This plays out so much in gender roles that you will see pregnant women and newborn mothers go through so much alone and still carry the burden of the needs and the desires of their male co-parent. I'd rather be alone or a single parent by choice. I can't treat a grown man like a child

So true. People who always say people shouldn’t act out of emotion often do things emotionally but just lie to themselves about it.

My male friend felt like his bi-male friend was more accurate on how women feel when he hits on them than me. It annoyed the shit out of me because most of the time I saw him hitting on girls, talked to the girls and tried to translate why to women might feel uncomfortable. Of course a woman such as myself would never know what a woman thinks 🤣 His bi-male friend has lived away from him for five years in another state and hasn’t seen my friend actually try and hit on women. I think, in short, that some men just don’t like listening to women even if it helps them as far as personal life is concerned.
