    This is from 1979. John Bottenfield’s Obleos’ opened in 1976 - a hot dog restaurant named after...what else... his retriever! Rest In Peace John, Erika, and Mady.

    I lived there in the early 1970s. In some ways, I was too young to appreciate whatever the city had to offer.

    A combination of car culture and expansion of suburbs. American culture used to be enthusiastic about cities but now there’s more focus on suburbs so a lot of cities declined. Other reasons too……..If you want to see vibrant city life I recommend Europe and Asia.
