People forget that he was there right from the beginning with Gonz and Natas and then whoever came after that. Seriously underrated but I get a feeling he doesn’t give one. Proper OG.

Seems to me like we all skate like him now. Like, all of us. He did it first back then and now literally everyone skates like this. Modern streetstyle is a combination of him and Brian Lotti. They are the pioneers of modern street style and don't get near the recognition they deserve.

Fully. I was telling a younger friend how Julien Stranger was doing shit in 92/93 that wouldn’t look out of place in Hockey X, Play Dead, the Limosine videos, etc. He’s way more influential than many realize.

I remember in interviews with skaters in the mags way back in late 80s, early 90s, JS was always on their top 5 influential skaters with the usual Hensley, Natas, Sheffey etc. It was on a JS airplane syringe board that skateboarding clicked for me. Bigger nose, ollie impossibles, 360 flips, 360 ollies. Great memories.

Grew up skating in the bay. It’s so crazy to think that all of our modern day style comes fro ma man who wanted none of the fame. Credits to Julien 100% for modern day “steez.” Big ups to Larry for life!!!!! 18/Our Life!!!
