TYVM for sharing this wonderful idea. I had made topary trees years ago for wedding decorations, but would never have thought to use paper flowers. Plus you have solved an issue for me, now I know what to make for my crafty friend for her 50th birthday later this year. Also for your handy tips throughout your tutorial, eg the quilling tool, the sticky tape, and the plastering, just to name a few. Your design is beautiful, so beautiful, I so do have the need to scrap-lift it. Congrats to U & TY

This is so beautiful, I'm seriously considering getting the machine and dies just to make it. It would also make neat Christmas ornaments, or one could even use essential oils on the flowers and make a nice closet potpourri.

On the cheap...You can probably do this free hand by drawing a swirl. the ball probably can be made of newspaper balled up. The paper well I would probably spend my money there on fade proof scrap book paper. Gorgeous effect!

It is a quilling tool. Slotted at the end to slip the paper thru. Used to make strips of paper into the prettiest things. It is actually paper fiiligree. There are also many web sites that you can order from, just put into search engine...quilling...and many web sites will come up. Also the paper is card stock, it is about as thick as 3 sheets of printing paper. Craft stores have it in the section where you have scrap book supplies. So hope this helps and enjoy.

Usually paper is not a good idea to put outside. Many have done it. A suggestion to keep it better is, paper spray glaze, it protects paper from humidity and dust too. Just not a decoration to leave outside.

Hi Dave, I have recently purchased 4 Memory Box dies. I have others as well. I purchased Winter Joy which is just beautiful, Exquisite Heart, Dazzling Heart and the one I am disappointed in, the Angel Wing Butterfly die. The reason I am disappointed as I thought the flowers on the side of the butterfly would be delicately cut out, just like the Winter Joy die. The butterfly cuts partially which is lovely, but the flowers on the side are almost invisible. Do you have any cards made using these dies, particularly the butterfly and the heart dies that have been posted please. I don't have much of an imagination, so your help would be very much appreciated. Many thanks. Bev Page. Love the topiary by the way. Thanks for sharing.

What about flower foam instead of plaster? It is much lighter and it doesn't ruin the pot... Plus a background color on the ball before putting the flowers would make a better effect (imo)
