Great Video by Abu Usamah! 41:37 made me cry because I know how much that hurt Usama in his heart (when you don't know) and the patience of Imam Ayoob. I was a student at the Islamic University of Madinah at that time Interviewers would travel to your country and I happened to be from Guyana (South America) Sheikh Sultan interviewed me and I was promised by him at the airport that he'll see me at Madina the following year I was accepted at age 23. when I came off the plane an old man called me too and said wait here but it turned out he was the bus driver so I went straight to the University. I didn't like most of the American brothers that I met in Madina and I will stop there. I was so young back then and wished I had followed through with the course but unfortunately, I ended up in America. I wish we had brothers who could have talked to us and encouraged us as to the real reason why we are at the university. My first class in Sho' bah was in all Arabic and I was lost nevertheless I never got below Mumtaz in my grades. Just a little motivation at age 23 would have helped me stay on. I am on a journey now to make massive changes because I now understand and experience the hells of life.
Having good character, having patience with your teachers/peers & having a thirst for knowledge is what I have learnt from Sh. Abu Usamah's talk Alhamdullillah.
Baarakallah feek, May Allah swt reward this brother with good, every eloquent and knowledgeable brother, Alhumduillah.
I have rarely heard anyone who was a student at University Al- Medina describe their experiences there. It was most wonderful and interesting to hear him relate his experiences there.
May allah have mercy on all fathumo's that can be made dua for!!!!! ever!!!!!
As wr wb, Sheikh muhammad al jamii. one of my hero from my tribe ma shaa Allah! Ya Allah make me true Sheikh! Ammin Alahumma Ammin. Jzk!
Amazing, his way of telling stories is amazing and fun, I liked and Favorited this video before I even completed watching it. That story about Imam Abu Ayoub was touching, I actually cried when he said Abu Ayoub had gave him money, that was emotional. It is sad because those scholars and this university are in my country and I haven't heard about the university untill couple of months ago, and now hearing all these stories and knowing that a lot of people benefited from it and people are trying hard to go there, it just make me realize how much Allah has honored me with and how ignorant and unappreciative I am, to live in this country (Saudi) and have a large amount of Salafi scholars but not really benefit from their knowledge is a huge miss of an incredible opportunity, now I feel how depressing is that. may Allah increase our knowledge and Iman.

Assalamu alaikum brother, do you know when the deadline is for application? I heard it is in the beginning of February. Is there any chance of being accepted for 2015 when applying in the summer of 2015?

I spent 2 semesters at the same language institute as Abu Usamah. He was one of the first Americans I met at the "jamia". One of his room mates was from the same country as I live. I remember him as a nice and dedicated person. Some other imams from the US that where at the jamia at that time where Abu Muslima and imam Rafiq Mahdi. There are video's of these imams on youtube as well. Btw, I know what the first name is what the imam is refering to, but I won't share with you, not even with my wife. :) Wa salam
