Its a design so retarded no one knows why it got trough. They were chasing dimishing returns in MPG and engine efficiency and decided "LeTs rUn ThE TiMiNg BeLt In OiL". So yeah now you have a belt thats a 2500$ job to replace and it may just fall apart randomly, clog your oil pickup and fuck everything despite Ford claiming that its fine if you use the correct certified oil and adhere to facory oil change intervals. Great Job Ford you are worse than post 2010 VAG. (End of the 1.9TDI Era = Beginning of their Downfall).

@lordpumpkinhead265 So let's say theoretically Europe bans usage of ICE cars. My 2020 Hyundai i30N I can't drive by law. So the only option I would have would be EV then. And that Hyundai IONIQ 5 N is the closest thing sounding to a ICE. It's a option I can take that us worth the money. Unlike Tesla cars and other EV brands.

The thumbnail with the block of wood under the gas pedal…. My first vehicle (15yrs old) was a 69 impala. It ran rough but it was a 327 so I was pretty sure I’d get her smoothie and fast. I got that 327 idling smooth, stepping up snappy, but… top end was like 60mph? *Note- here’s were inexperience shows. I spent about $1200 completely rebuilding the entire fuel system (tank removed and steamed, new fuel lines, filters, carbs rebuilt, and just kept going.) It wasn’t till I had that ‘light bulb’ moment when I noticed it made more RPM when I manually moved the throttle linkage than when I used the accelerator pedal. Sure enough, the 7 extremely dirty floor mats were prevent full travel of the pedal. (1 mat alone, when turned upside down on the garage floor, I used a vibrating sander to knock the grit out. The pile of grit was over 1.5”.) Felt pretty dumb but damn that car was fast. (Extremely ugly but fast. Actually only ugly because it was a retired taxi, that had mismatched body panels/doors.) One hell of a party car for a crazy country kid.
