It's not about life experience. You don't need life experience to understand life. It's common sense. Experience doesn't do shit. That's why most people never learn. They do the same shit or get the wrong idea/mindset. Experience doesn't have anything to do with that. If you're smart you don't need experience to understand things.

Holy crap. Tommy had so much more development than I previously thought. He really has evolved from a person with one-dimensional goals to a person with his own moral philosophies, innate values and wisdom that all match up with his personality. None of this feels forced or wedged into Tommy’s arc, it’s a natural and organic progression of what he’s been through. And that’s fuckin beautiful.

Ironically he's wrong. Peace shouldn't be made just cuz it's an option. The reason why they kept losing is because they kept trying to make peace with an awful person who wanted to kill them. Dream made it clear that he'd never let them be independent. They should've fought back, but Wilbur decided to be a fucking pacifist. And then got mad when he lost.

really makes you think about technoblade's "violence is the only universal language".. technoblade didn't want to talk. for tommy, it's more like "any language is universal, if people only bothered to learn it" i think. they're like perfect foils for each other

This speech is one of my all-time favorites of Tommy’s. What I think I love the most about this speech is that it really reflects not only how Tommy sees Wilbur and everything that went down but also displays more clearly who he truly is inside to others. Tommy’s had plenty to say before, and he’s said it, but sometimes his childish manner of speaking and difficulty with communicating has caused the meaningful things he HAS said before to become lost in translation, making not only other characters in the story brush Tommy off or wrongly perceive something he’s said, but also the viewers themselves to miss the deeper meaning behind Tommy’s usual speech patterns and brash attitude. This speech is one of the rare times Tommy is effectively communicating his thoughts with someone as well as revealing a side to him he doesn’t often bare to people. He’s not yelling or rambling or speaking in a manner that is barely understandable to those who has no prior knowledge to what he’s referring to; he’s quiet and calm and speaking with his heart instead of his mouth. Despite his usual demeanor and being a child, viewers and characters alike forget that Tommy fought in wars and went through stuff most adults don’t ever experience. He carries a lot of wisdom and kindness that many miss because they only see what’s on the surface, what Tommy lets people see. And, in the end, despite the very different mannerism in which Tommy delivers this speech, it’s still very clearly Tommy, showed most pointedly when Tommy says, “Thanks, I guess there’s more to you, too.” He does this with a tone of someone not only unused to genuinely taking compliments but as a person awkwardly (and somewhat reluctantly) trying to give a positive response back but just ending up sounding petulant and sarcastic (a very Tommy vibe👌).

Absolutely outstanding. The composition is clearly well thought out, the colours and temperatures, the duality between wilbur and Tommy when he says that everyone messes up, the imagery to add to the poignancy of Tommy's dialogue - masterfully made. Some of your best stuff yet!

First off: animation - BEAUTIFUL. And for favorite moments: its hard to choose but like omg here are a bunch 1) right before exile, where Dream lashes out at Tommy, and when Tubbo goes aganst what they had discussed and exiled him, those moments where so just ✨MMM✨ 2) then a few in-exile moments, and the season two finale being my favorite, like just almost all of that, the Tubbo goodbye, the reVeal of Dream's doing and tge community house, OMG dont even get me started on the crimeboys interaction😭 some more favorties would be like Sam Nook or Puffy and Tommy interactions, prison stuff, when Tommy had to hide in a box in Techno's cabin whilst Techno (and then Ghostbur) tries to cover for him. It was pretty funny. More recently, the red banquet and Puffy watching Foolish die :( tieing into Quackity lore and when he told Foolish he let him die. Then Quackity vs. Wilbur+Tommy lore! Tommy hugging Ranboo after trying to do 'exposure therapy' on himself :( AAAAAA pretty much anything crimeboys and alliumduo if I'm gomma be honest. Pffff but theres also just a lot of moments I love. kind of got carried away- WHOOPS jdjdjdjdhhd but again your animations are✨💖✨💖💖 that dance of death one I couldnt stop freaking out over😫

My favorite moment? Probably on Doomsday when Techno spawned the withers

"I don't believe in second chances. I just believe that everyone has some good in them. A little good in them. It's not about chances. It's about not giving up on the people you care about" In this moment, Tommy is possibly the wisest person I've ever seen and he's earned so much respect from me

I love how this scene was completely impromptu, can't believe this was the same stream as the sea cucumber one. You did so well, everything about this is beautiful! The composition, the choice of colors, just everything

This is so beautiful, with how the story is told through Tommy, and how the lighting and shading just contribute so well to the nostalgic atmosphere alongside moments of uncertainly. Just excellent

this is like one of my favorite smp moments, its showing how tommy's character grew and his point of view on things but also ti showed foolish the story of L'manburg, love it also love the shroud moment too

we don't really get to see tommy show this side of himself to other characters much, it's nice to see foolish be one to finally see this side of him

The frame with quackity taking his shirt of and everyone's reaction is just like the base of what the dream smp is. Its like the relationship between them all

i cant believe tommy improvised this entire scene...like genuinely the lines paired with the raw emotion in his voice makes this feel like a scene from a film. This is probably one of the best animations I've seen, you did outstanding!

omg i remember this stream foolish listed all the 'things' tommy had been, like the hero, the villain ect. and the ACTING man oml this is way to good to be a mc rp istg gonna make me cry.

OH MY WORD WHEN FOOLISH SAID THAT MAYBE HE WAS WEONG ABOUT TOMMY- all of this was amazing, and heartbreaking, but that really freaking got me. Wow. Ouch. Also when he said some people aren’t strong enough and they stop talking. Nil, that hit a really personal nerve lol. This just goes to show how far Tommy has come. MAN. This is such a different take from the usual animatics you'd see in this fandom.. Usually you'd see the VERY angsty and dramatic parts of the lore animated, and y'know sometimes that can be repetitive imo. So it's so nice to have a animatic like these that focus on the calm yet very meaningful dialogues of these characters and their development!! I hope to see more of these

Bro… I’m tearing up. The colors are gorgeous and capture the mood of each scene incredibly well. The music choice was brilliant and I absolutely love your art style. The composition too… really just everything was really well done. I loved this particular moment on stream because so much of Dream smp is action. This is probably why I loved Wilbur’s writing so much because there were times where it was just 15 minutes of reflection and monologue. In those moments we were able to take a break, and the characters also took a break. The fact that this dialogue isn’t even from Tommy’s stream really makes it feel that time on the Dream smp is still moving. It’s just that we’re so used to action that it feels like it’s stopped for awhile now, but not everyday of a character has to feel like chaos. This animatic perfectly captures that feeling of calm yet melancholy.

THIS IS SO GOOOOOOD everything from the pacing to the scene choices and colors- love it, so pretty and bittersweet/nostalgic/sad and it all flows together super well like a scene from a show

That "Now, Wilbur was a good man... He's a good man deep inside, okay? But he's been a bad guy for a very long time, and I know there's some good in him" It hurt me more than I thought...

Genuinely, this is my new favorite animatic. I'm mind blown that I haven't heard this audio before. Tommy is incredible at what he does, and Foolish did great bouncing off of Tommy's thoughts to weave the story. Thank you for bringing such a tender moment to life! This is a really good summary of the major lmanberg-based events on the smp, told from the pov of one of the main characters, and expressed in beautiful and outstanding imagery

So I just realised that at 1:02 you can see the flame in wilburs eyes flickering! That’s such an awesome little detail seriously this is a beautiful animatic!

that was the most mature and most POSITIVE and good hearted reasoning I've heard from anyone in a LONG time, especially from a character like Tommy. normally I believe in this way of thinking, but its hard to see others say things like this, and well, while teh SMP is more lore, and I dont know if tommy actually thinks that way, if he did, makes him a LOT better than a LOT of people in this world. this was wholesome. I love it.

I’d honestly love to see this type of more casual, storytelling PMV more often. It isn’t so focused on the dramatic background music but instead on the actual audio and storyline, which is just as interesting to watch. In this video in particular, the color palette goes so well with the atmosphere and the shading is amazing. This is beautiful.

wow, this made me cry and i wasn’t expecting to. the music choice was so bittersweet paired with tommy’s speech, which i think is one of the best looks into his character in one clip. and of course the art is amazing, it wouldn’t bring the same emotions without it. excellent work!!

What makes this even more lovely is that it just happened out of nowhere in the stream. Everything up until that point was Foolish and Tommy hanging out and being silly when all of a sudden, BAM! LORE. Harkens back to the foundations of Dream Smp as off the cuff role play. This animatic is beautiful and I'm so glad someone made one of this monologue!

This hits so much harder with the most recent lore from Wilbur. Like, Tommy wishes Wilbur would apologize, hopes that he’ll say sorry, and tries to stick by him even with his disappointment. He just wants proof that Wilbur really does still have good in him. That he still cares

Oh my goodness this hits so different after watching the final Wilbur lore :')

It's nice to imagine the life the characters are living in the server. The little moments like these that we don't see, somewhere, Wilbur is with Tommy selling burgers and laughing, Ranboo is with Tubbo reading Michael a bedtime story, Karl is with Sapnap in Kinoko Kingdom preparing for battle against dream and treasuring the last moments he has with the people he loves, Slimecicle is with Quackity, sharing advice, wisdom and laughs and Tommy and Foolish are sharing a rare moment over the crater of the home they once called theirs. Finally understanding each other underneath the sunset, grief and tattered flags. The moments we don't see are the most beautiful.

I think about this with the allegations, and all the people who just gave up on wilbur and are being awful and won't even allow him the chance to change and learn. there are people who've done worlds worse and have been able to come back stronger than they were before so why can't he? im not on either side of the situation but i agree that there's good in everyone even if just a little and anyone can change if they try

Stellar work here. I love the linework and the colors. The style itself has a very crisp and clean feeling while the music fills it with emotion. Personally, I remember watching this stream live so it's pretty amazing to see how well you captured this moment and drew connections to so many other places on the story's timeline.

Ever since the DreamSMP started I was captivated by the story telling and how every character was important someway or another. Haven't seen anything like it either. This is a great animation. Glad I found it.

Just stumbled upon this. WHAHATTTTT?! In tommy's words, absolutely incredible. :)

What if the reason c!Tommy doesn't believe in second chances is because no one ever really gave him one?

You know, people are talking about how this is a great show of character growth, and it is, but I feel the ideal of "not giving up on people you care about" has been Tommy's philosophy since day one. Tommy had learned about trying to understand his actions have consequences, and he needs to consider other people more. But I think the philosophy of "never give up on people you care about" explains ALOT if not all of his actions in the lore. Tommy wasnt always morally correct, (not the hero people say he ) or even a very aware considerate friend, but his loyalty was FIERCE in knowing who he stood by and sticking with them til the bitter end. Even when Tommy was devastated at Wilbur's spiral, he knew internally that Wilbur was going to destroy everything, (Wilbur constantly told Tommy he was going to... so im not sure why they made it seem like Wil was a traitor) Tommy never left Wil's side, even knowing he would be hurt, because he never gave up hope in that person no matter what happened. Have you ever noticed that Tommy not even once genuinely sought out revenge (to people he has loyalty about) of his own violition. It takes ALOT for Tommy to give up on people he cares about, and even with all the crap he went through he never did. When exile happened (and Tommy was manipulated to the point of thinking he was abandoned and hated by those he loved) so many people wanted Tommy to snap. They wanted him to seek justice for what happened and for him to go into a villain arc against those who wronged him, but thats just not how tommy IS. Sure Tommy was hurt, and angry with people, (he made sure they knew it when he could tell them) but Tommy only ever left everyone when he was forced to, when he didnt have another option. Even when Dream tried to force Tommy to give him his loyalty instead, it only barely worked and didnt last long as soon as Tommy recognized that Dreams loyalty was fake. Even when Techno DID take in Tommy, he offered Tommy his loyalty in exchange for Tommy's loyalty to him (which meant Tommy abandoning people he still cared about, who hurt both of them) But it didnt matter that they hurt him, Tommys mind was already made up, so the MOMENT he had the opportunity to return back to Tubbo, he took it. Now while this "never give up on people" philosophy might be admirable, it is DANGEROUS. When Tommy has decided his loyalties, it means no matter what happens, if he gets hurt, if others get hurt, he will stand by them.

I'm glad that we got more insight into Tommy's character in this scene (I just discovered that this existed so props to Tommy for characterising himself into someone so mature; its proof that he has learnt from his experiences that hasn't been seen very often form him. I love how you've animated it; the memories just made everything very emotional :0. Not to mention the music; the innocent music to show Tommy's vulnerability about Wilbur!!! that was so cool!
