This makes me think of my mother. She frequently cooked Sunday lunch for our family. My brother isn’t one to eat a lot of sweets but he would eat something lemon. So any Sunday that he was going to be at lunch we knew the dessert would be lemon 🍋 Treasure this time with your loved ones. What I would give to have mom back for one more Sunday lunch.

You are so right. When my mother in-law passed, she left my husband a substantial inheritance. I was taking care of investments for him. One day I asking him if he was alright with what I was suggesting. He didn’t speak for a minutes, then he said, I’d give everything and more to spend a few minutes with her. I’m in tears just thinking of that day. ❤

We had friends for supper tonight. Every dish was from your repertoire! I made your hamburger casserole and served it over noodles; peas and dumplings, asparagus casserole, tossed salad and hot rolls! For dessert, I served your chocolate pie! Everything was a huge hit! My friend said she doesn’t even like asparagus, but she loved your recipe!! I’m so blessed by your presenting such good dishes! I’m so happy I found you!! It was a cup made for left-handed people. The measurements are printed so that they can be read when held in the left hand - the opposite of right-handed measuring cups.

Not going to lie, she looks like what Judy Garland would look like today. Such an adorable lady and bet absolute gorgeous in her younger years not that she isn’t today also. She just reminds me of her. I did a book report on Judy Garland and she was amazing and MEME seems to b amazing also. Love her awesome recipes!! I also that she loves butter, so do I. Everything is better with butter. Lol. Keep doing ur thing, it’s awesome!!

If you save your butter wrappers for later. They can be used to spread you baking dish. Better then spray pam.

I’m old now mid 70s and I have been cooking since I was a boy. I still like to watch and learn from folks like you. Thanks for posting these and thanks to Carline as well.

Yummy yum yum. I just made these bars for dinner this evening and I cooled them completely. Made frosting exactly per instructions. The frosting had more of a whipped consistency than a glaze like Meme’s. It spread not poured. I’m guessing her bars weren’t cooled completely. I did have about a tablespoon extra of powdered sugar left so I put it in the frosting as well and this could have made it more fluffy. Either way, I’m sure they will be delicious. It’s my nephew’s 15th birthday today and he wanted molten lava cake which I have never made. There will be 9 of us and I wasn’t about to make 9 individual cakes not knowing how they would turn out. I have to bake it right before I serve it. I made a single serving. We’ll see how his cake turn out. That’s also why I made a backup dessert. He’s having another bowling party next weekend with a cake which I will not be attending with a group of 15 year olds. He’s adorable and I love him with his light brown eyes a shoulder length curly sable hair. He’s a lady killer already.

They look amazing! I haven't made lemon bars in years. My mom would put powdered sugar on top instead of a glaze, but I think I like your idea better! I wonder if a little lemon juice in the glaze would be too much? I would also love to put lemon zest in the shortbread crust. Overkill? Well anyway, thank you again for a wonderful video.
