Die Stadt Melsungen ist ein Luftkurort im Schwalm-Eder-Kreis in Nordhessen. Die Stadt mit ihrem historischen Stadtkern wurde erstmalig urkundlich erwähnt in 802.
Heute liegt nahe der Stadt das Industriegebiet Pfieffewiesen. Dort ist unter anderem ein Weltmarktführer für medizinische Industrieprodukte, die B. Braun Melsungen AG, angesiedelt.

The city of Melsungen is a climatic health resort in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse. The town with its historic city center was first mentioned in a document in 802.
Today, the Pfieffewiesen industrial area is located near the town. Among other companies, a world market leader for medical industrial products, B. Braun Melsungen AG, is located there.
