That has gotta be the best goalkeeping performance I’ve seen. Saving 4 penalties?! + half a dozen more to keep victory in the game. Insane.

@@themightyhawks By "nowhere near him" you're conveniently ignoring the part where he kicks and stomps on the city player with his left boot. That is violent conduct, and the referee was 100% correct to send him off.

First Melbourne City penalty was awarded from a handball whilst sliding on the ground. Where was Da Silva’s arm supposed to be in that situation? I thought that was a natural position and cannot be awarded a handball. Doesn’t even seem like he was reaching with his arm to block the ball. It’s like if aiming for someone’s trailing arm will always win a penalty I’d expect to be doing it more often. Second, what was with the Machach straight red? He didn’t get his face, most would be a yellow..but also no city player got a card for the way they acted on him? I’m very happy we got the win but the refereeing has to be looked at and revised. This is bizarre.

Machach got a straight red because he kicked a player in the chest... that's a straight red every day of the week.

Terrible penalty takers for Melb. City. It would be best if you aimed higher or lower with more power. These tall keepers can easily save a low shot with little power if they dive at the correct side.

That red card for victory was a clear flop you could see he was fine until the ref came along

That machach red was never a red.. clearly no facial contact, made a little tap to the chest yet because natel rolls around holding his face its worth a sending off?? If anything, natel should've been booked for his little act after the light contact. Im not saying machach is completely innocent, but he only deserved a yellow, if anything. Refs tried to screw victory over, yet we still managed to pull through. 💪 💪 CMON VICTORY.

Nope, red card was correct. While you're right no contact to the face was made, the violent conduct (kick to the chest) warranted a red card.

I went to this wonderfull game as a city fan and i thought we were gonna win in pens but tern out we didnt

TBH we didn't deserve to win, how can we just sit back and not put the game to bed when we're up a man. Always passing sideways and back like the bad old days, hesitating in attack, so frustrating to watch.

Izzo, best on field. Kudos to Victory for beating 12 men with 10. Natel should have been red carded for that terrible acting. How many times did he roll over?!!! Dog.

I agree the acting to make sure the incident was looked at is crappy behaviour, but they all do that these days. You can't however deny that the red card was totally justified because it most definitely was violent conduct.

The bloke was kicked in the chest, calling him a dog and not machach is certainly an interesting way to embarrass yourself.

City are a club with no heart or history. You can hear that the Victory fans where so much louder than the City fans when we scored the equaliser.

why the hell is he holding his face.. cant the officals look that the video replay and see there was no contact made, he should of been off with a red for faking,...

Shouldn't have been holding his head you're right, but to claim there was no contact made is objectively wrong. Machach kicked him in the chest, hence the red card was correct.

I remember when the team finishing top was considered champions, that was before the money hungry administrators followed the AFL in giving the other 5 teams a chance to steal the trophy.....

It's a circus. One day *sixth place* will win this and be called 'champions'.... 🙄
