Well well well… Here we are at the milestone 1K Subs!
This is my 3rd year on KZread and I never thought I would come this far in such a small amount of time, back when I first started this channel on December 11, 2021.
Thank you to everyone who has subscribed, to get me here, everyone who likes & comments, or simply just watches my videos. I have made so many good friends over the past 3 years, and I’m really happy to be a part of the garbo enthusiast community.
Monday 24th of July 2024 marked an end to Citywide Environmental, when City of Melbourne sold the company to Cleanaway who paid $110 million for Citywide’s waste and recycling business and assets. Citywide was formed in 1995 and is owned subsidiary by The City of Melbourne. Citywide Environmental never really was overly successful, only holding 4 council contracts, being their ‘home base’ of The City of Melbourne, Manningham City Council (Which they lost to Solo in 2016), The recently acquired City of Port Phillip, and of course, the one that meant so much to me - The Southside of Merri-bek (formanly Moreland) Council.
This video shows 2 of my favorite units, #11481, being a 2011 Iveco Acco Euro 5 LEV, with 29m Recycle Body, that is used full time on recycle, & #11487, also a 2011 Iveco Acco Euro 5, with a smaller 22m Body, this is a spare unit, and it most commonly seen on garbage, both of these units are fairly aged and have seen better days, and are set to be retired when Cleanaway takes over our tucks. Here we see these units in the Friday Area 3 zone, I started off filming Ryan, then headed down to Daniel and then ended up with them both on the same street, Greenwaste, which was #FN21007, was following at the end, but the driver was not a fan of me filming, so I did not get a full video of it. Had a great time.
A big thanks to the 2 legends behind the wheel - Daniel & Ryan, for letting me film, I’m sure Ryan is happy to see this footage as you have been waiting quite a bit.
Big thanks to everyone once again, Look out for some more interesting content with some new trucks as Cleanaway progressively starts to handle the collections over the next few weeks/months. I still have a large number of videos of the Citywide trucks to put up, these will be released in the coming months & years

Cleanaway won’t take over collections for at least another 14-18 months.

Awesome one mate, massive congratulations on 1K subs, big achievement. That's 1,000 people loving your content. Two beasts in action, good looking trucks, shame they're set to go soon, one of the last LEVs. Also love the 22m, even the number regular flat faced Accos are becoming smaller and smaller which is a shame. Both drivers seem like legends, 9:02 Danny wasn't too happy about the mess to clean up 😂 Good to know these trucks will be around for a bit longer, will be interesting what chassis Cleanaway chooses for any new trucks, and whether they go down the Bucher or SuperiorPak route. Thanks Mate, Gotta love these trucks I caught some more of them today, I was wanting to get the LEV 22m and Flat faced 29m, but one wasn't out and the other said no to filming... the normal story.. I'm pretty lucky and happy to be able to film this LEV, the last 2 in the country, I've been pretty lucky to see it every Friday for over 10 years, Haha Danny wasn't too happy about being in the spare, and that spill didn't help, had a massive one today those foam packaging peanuts went flying everywhere.. the wind fixed that one haha. I'd say Cleanaway will probably go for Spaks, which will be the first time they've run on this side of the council in over 2 decades. still about a year and a half to they take over but only time will tell. Thanks again.

Yeah will be the first time they’ve done parts of Brunswick in over 2 decades. Really keen on seeing some Spaks running around

Cleanaway is only taking over the south part of merri bek, the former citywide side. The north council side will not change.
So citywide will still be operating or they are losing contract to all areas?

citywide will keep operating for a while still, all thier current contracts will be taken over by cleanaway
