beexsun You basically described a textbook progression of a toxic abusive relationship. Almost all abusers start out as gentlemen and great then over time their evil comes through. They don’t just magically wake up one day a different person and start abusing their partner. Sometimes a stressed bring out that side of them but it was ALWAYS there. Abuse is gradual and insidious. Like the quote goes, ‘no one gets punched on the first date.’

To some people asking why didn’t she just leave if she wasn’t happy: I don’t think some people realize how difficult and mentally straining it is to actually leave a abusive relationship I can’t even imagine how it would feel. Some people feel isolated and feel like they can’t leave or be without that person. It’s traumatizing. And it’s sad because some don’t leave even if it’s toxic. Especially if you’re being mentally and physically abused. It’s honestly terrible.
