This song is obviously about her "teacher" Adam Levine when she was on the voice. Him and his wife had a falling out also for unknown reasons but they are "okay" now. This is probably why. Despite the film portrayal this isnt about another person. It's def about Mel. She says give me back my money because he helped her push up her career a little for awhile but he just used her for the money and they stopped talking completely. They don't even follow eachother on anything anymore because they're not cool anymore. They used to follow eachother when she was on the voice and after that for awhile. She got far too and almost won. He helped her for a little while after the show but he just used her clearly. He was also obsessed with her on the voice he was like in love with her voice and look like he never shut up about it. I guess he screwed her too in more ways than one.

This exactly happened to me

I think this is was sadder than it sounds. In the chorus the girl says “don’t care bout grades just call me your lady- if I pass this quiz will you give me your babies?..” This shows that people don’t care about her, no one does. Probably not her parents either. So the first person who said “loved” her she took the chance and was left empty.

One of my friend's actually sang this song (except for the first verse, and changed some of the words) in front of our school on stage during a talent show, and he sang this song to expose one of our teachers, who had been manipulating him, and y'know.. Even pointing at her while he was singing, she was arrested after that event. He was so iconic for that.

This kinda reminds me of my very first relationship, I was 15, he was 23.... We were only together for a week, but still. He'd act like I was nothing to him when other people were around, but when we were alone, he tried to talk me into giving his v-card to him - which I didn't! I was waiting til marriage to do that sort of thing - then afterwards, he ignored me completely, then he disappeared.... Turns out, he had a fiance and I wasn't the only minor he tried hooking up with. Pretty sure he's still in jail. I'm a door mat usually, but I'm so thankful that I had enough respect for myself to stand up to my "boyfriend" when he tried to talk me into or literally tried to do some shady shit while we were kissing.

honestly thank you for this comment. was kind of tired of seeing the "if u relate call 911" comments because doing that rarely helps. like i get what they're tryna say but its not the best advice, as someone who's gone thru stuff as a child and has called 911. they dont listen to children.

@@dabordietrying plus just on a pratical level, 911 only deals with immediate emergencies. if u seriously want to call someone ab grooming/sexual assault, youd get a better response on a helpline made for those kinds of situations

When I was in 5th grade, I had a male teacher that used to look at me, and wink at me, and look at me up and down and bite his lip.. He had a wife and 2 sons. He was about 45, and I was 10. He pulled me out of class and pulled me into his classroom and SA'd me. The school had cameras,but there wasn’t a camera in his room. On the cameras it showed he pulled me out of class and into his room. I told the principal but she denied it and didn’t take me seriously and said there’s no evidence of it so it didn’t happen. My therapist had to permanently remove me from the school and homeschool be for the rest of my life because of how bad they treated me especially. The teachers and principal harassed me, accusing me of being ab*sed at home even when I had no marks on me,and I just had bad anxiety and cried at school because of the loudness. The rest of the year, they harassed me and always pulled me out of class and ask If I’m okay and once I say no, they let me draw and wouldn’t put me back into class, and they kept pulling me out of class. I started to get annoyed and very angry and I started yelling at them in my notebook (since I didn’t want to talk so I wrote down stuff to communicate). The teachers said "ok that’s enough, you’re going to the principals office". I got yelled at for swearing because of how mad and upset I was. The counselor always had bad vibes,and he always wanted to be close to me and talked to me especially, so I got very uncomfortable near him because of the incident. I said nothing about it,because I knew the principal will deny it again.. and yes, this is a real story about what happened to me

The whole year,he’d constantly and subtle touch me,talk to me,stuff like this. At the end,he ignored me and didn’t speak to me at all. He’s my PE teacher.

@@ferneshamitchell9824 This song is obviously about her "teacher" Adam Levine when she was on the voice. Him and his wife had a falling out also for unknown reasons but they are "okay" now. This is probably why. Despite the film portrayal this isnt about another person. It's def about Mel. She says give me back my money because he helped her push up her career for awhile but he just used her for the money and they stopped talking completely. They don't even follow eachother on anything anymore because they're not cool anymore. They used to follow eachother when she was on the voice and after that for awhile. She got far too and almost won. He helped her for a while still after the show but he just used her clearly. He was also obsessed with her on the voice he was like in love with her voice and look like he never shut up about it. I guess he screwed her too in more ways than one. That's what this song is about. LOL
