this song is SO underrated in the crybaby community i never hear people speak about it. I interprete the 'sitting all alone youre right in front of me' as spending time with someone but they just pay no attention to you which hits home lol. If you like the laid back production youd enjoy her unreleased, a lot of them are mostly guitar with amazing lyrics and obviously her beautiful voice

i definitely interpret this song as reminiscing on a narcissistic relationship, all the love bombing in the beginning is “sweet” but it quickly becomes “bitter” when she realizes that it’s not real, and how he’s being mean one moment & then is nice again to pull her back in. the ice cream on a summers day melts quickly, just as the beginning sweetness of a toxic partner never lasts, “beginning sweetness never stays”. he’s there when she’s alone, which means that despite his presence she still feels alone, this can also allude to him giving her the silent treatment and ignoring her, which is a common tactic of a narcissist. the “i guess i held on for too long” is because she lied to herself in the beginning & tried to give him the benefit of the doubt instead of running at the first red flags. then it progresses into him speaking “sour lemonade” to her, aka becoming more verbally abusive which “tastes bitter”. and finding grapefruit in his teeth symbolizes her thinking being with him would taste sweet but then finding the dark/bitter side once she knew him better. but now he’s “old gum & she spits him out” because she realized he’s a bad person & she leaves the relationship / goes ‘no contact’ w him (brushes her teeth= completely clears him from her life). the tragedy is that she fell for his deception. it’s also a tragedy that someone so charismatic/ charming, “sweet” could also be so mean, cruel, abusive, “bitter”. i was in a relationship with a narcissist so i’m very educated on all the narcissistic terms hahaha & i love this song since it’s so relatable on that level.

Isn't it just about a person in a relationship that was sweet first and once hooked, the narcissistic/ gaslighting part of the partner comes out. And she's finally realised, it's time to go. And just realised that's a bonus track from Evermore by Taylor Swift right?

Hi again!!! I love your reactions so much and i was wondering if you might react to one of my favorite bands Eisley! They're so good and I think a great song for you to start with would be Marvelous Things or One Day I Slowly Floated Away! Even if you don't react to them on camera I think you would still really enjoy them 👍
