I feel this song because it’s about standing up for yourself and not letting anyone and anything destroy your self-esteem. With the chorus “Don’t battle with my larynx tonight” emphasises the importance of protecting one’s voice and not letting others dominate it. This song also criticises those who talk without thinking which is suggesting that they are superficial and they lack substance. From my thoughts, this song sounds like it’s written about 2 different conflict styles - one person who yells a bunch of nothing loudly and tries to intimidate, whilst the other is calm and concisely use their words and wit to prove their point. 🤍🕯️

Haha I used to have the same problem actually, I sang just a tiny bit in middle school and people would tell me to shut up 🥲 but once I got to high school, I actually grew more confident and I stopped caring about what they say ✨ I literally sing 24/7 at home and school, I'm not saying you should do the same, but maybe be more confident ^ ^ Edit: I performed the national anthem for my high school grad 🥲💅

Melanie is like an other-wordly spiritual goddess, she’s amazing! I love how she writes whatever she wants and feels and doesn’t care at all about what haters have to say about her.

I love how the "with teeth that are round and dull" line emphasizes the "your bark is much worse than your bite" concept.

This is my enlightenment of knowing that Crybaby is still present with us, she sounds heavenly 🫶

void is also similar. i think void and this song are warnings. then evil is the actual battle, and the line “but i’ll be silent till you cross the line” ties in as evil is the loudest; showing her breaking her silence.

In fact, maybe it could be that battle of the larynx is her having the first half of the argument, where the other person doesn't say anything too bad, so she stays silent until they cross the line. So evil could be where they cross the line.

The way that she says "so stupid selfish baby" is just so sad and it breaks my hurt 😢

I think the meaning is about somebody drunk and aggressive trying to yell over you to shut your voice out even though you’re saying the truth. They don’t care about you or your voice or making any sense. they want to get angry they want to yell they want to win over you and that’s all they care about. Humans acting like feral animals fighting, releasing their inner angers and justifying them to themselves because they have nothing else to add to the conversation.
