The discrepancy on Richard Bacon's presenter number comes from something that happened more or less after he had already been parted from the show. At the time he was on the show he was the 24th presenter. In October 1998 it was realised that they had accidentally forgotten Anita West in the numbering, in that she had replaced Leila Williams and then herself been replaced by Val Singleton, all while Christopher Trace was there, but she had never been numbered, so that Val was still number 3. Then at the 40th anniversary Anita was given number 26, so that the next presenter, Simon Thomas was always number 27. However since then the Anita has been reshuffled to her true sequential position (i.e 3rd), shuffling everyone from Val Singleton to Konnie Huq one place lower in the list than they were before, and hence making Richard correctly the 25th presenter now, even if not at the time.

its just the format, they've tried tv like this a few times in America and its never really worked well, i'd say the best was Whose line is it anyway which they had casted perfectly for America, The revival of it however kinda failed. it can be done it just has to be done right over there, and i'd say theres not many american/canadian comedians that would settle for an appearance on a panel like show which is sad

can i just use your comment to confirm that british society has a fantastic humour that translates well into their TV Shows? i don't see tv shows in my country for almost 2 decades now because they stopped doing creative and fun stuff in the early 00s and limited themselves to Big Brothers, Love on I don't know where, who wants to marry the agriculturist, celebrities island, dancing with the stars... just awful awful awful tv. there's also a lot of USA shows like jimmy fallon and all others, but even that was interesting during 1 year, maybe, except for Connan, Jon Stewart and Jon Oliver lol those are still ok. the way these programs are so script, so strict, so american in many ways, just doesn't sound interesting or fun. so... british tv forever i guess. even american guests gain another light here.

i think it's great that a kid grows up scared of a movie than of real life events. and i find that kids that saw certain cinema "too early" have a lot more to become interesting teenagers (when it's that time of life where you can be so cool or so lame) and later interesting adults. also i think that parents that are there to present themselves that kind of stuff to their children, are using their time to do just that and not using that time to create negative real life events like getting mad because the kid left their toys on the ground and deserves to get beaten. my mind is going places, sorry

@@envoltaemla6652 it depends what movies you mean. A lot of kids when I was younger were allowed to watch "adult" movies that were really targeted at teens. They had a lot of low brow humour, swearing and occasional nudity so kids think they're hilarious but don't have the context to realise that it's gratuitous and crude. When teenagers watch those types of movies, they're old enough to realise that they're bad on purpose but younger kids just think they're great and shape their sense of humour around it. Sometimes it's good for parents to have an influence over the stuff their kids see. Also I think part of the fun of being a kid is knowing you get to see all that stuff when you're older.

It blows my mind how people seemingly have such a problem with the simplest of basic health precaution. It's a minor inconvenience, and if we could all get together and be on the same page for long enough, we wouldn't have to deal with it for so much longer. You do realize for the average panel show they record for like 2-2.5 hours, right? So that's quite a lot of time out there on the stage. Much less than what they'd be back in the green room, and it's not like they're all in there at once the whole time (and that's to say nothing of the much greater ease of being able to frequently disinfect your hands or whatever back there). Yes being vaxxed and regularly tested puts you far less at risk, but the temporary set design is just a way they can help set an example to a certain degree, and it serve a practical function. And to the commenter referencing Aisling Bea's backstage photo, one brief period of time shown by a group photo (and I'm sure each of those people were vaxed and freshly tested) is a lot different than a standing stage set that has to then accomodate like a couple dozen different people over a period of several weeks. Behind the scenes you've got many different crew members constantly moving around doing this and that so it's much harder to do everything being so strict about some level of distancing. On stage all they gotta do is sit there and talk, so it's a small price to just be separated by a bit.
