The festival takes place from the 22nd of the 4th lunar month to the 27th of the 4th lunar month (May 29 to the 3rd of June of the solar calendar). Probably about 8 hours, depending on immigration, but it's all very relaxed & comfortable. The fact it's so relaxing & you have fresh air coming in, a view, & a couple of interesting border stops makes it feel like a 4 hour trip. Good to bring extra snacks though.
