Thanks Aya - this was a beautiful video and so peaceful! I have been to Meiji Jingu many times but never visited the garden - I realised I need to visit again after watching your video - thank you. Even the cake was beautiful!

Thanks Nick! To tell you the truth, I myself didn’t know about the hidden heart-shaped objects although I’ve been there so many times🤣 Enjoy your next visit to the Meiji Shrine AND the cake!!

Meiji Shrine is essentially within Yoyogi Park, which you don’t mention. Takeshita Dori, the shopping street you reference, does not take you to the shrine. The shrine is dedicated to the Meiji Emperor, the Emperor who began Japan’s emergence as a modern and major global power. You don’t mention that, either.

2:13 I've heard about those sake barrels! I think they were donated by local businesses. This is the first time I've seen footage of them though ☺

Yes you are right, those sake barrels are donated to the shrine by sake brewers from all over Japan. They are empty tho 😆

Obviously the park grounds (this is Yoyogi Park?) are very beautiful. I gather that you have to walk a very long distance from Harajuku Station before you reach the shrine? Would it take about an hour? Also, do visitors get to see inside the buildings or can they only see the outside structure? Aya, I appreciate your help. Thanks, Ron

I was so confused what to do at the temple. I tried to copy what everyone else was doing but it got overwhelming
