    What do you think about wiping the panel for multiple rounds with the same cleaner (like the cheap Eagle One iron remover), to establish a baseline and easy durability comparison for every product? That Tsunami cleaner ruins the testing, IMO.

    Seal and shine is still my go to for my truck and its thanks to you and how you actually break the products down. It's cheap and does very well for the price. I have tho started stacking products like I will wash my truck and apply seal and shine then a week later wash it again but use Maguire's hybrid ceramic as I spray it off as you showed in a previous video. I would like to see you mix some products so we can see what happens when tortured. Just an idea. Great video

    WOW! is all I can say... I honestly thought that the M27 would have been quite a bit better than the consumer version but daum! Honest opinion... they are the same product with different M#'s and different colors. They both reacted to the tests the exact same way.. Turtle Wax is still KING!!!

    The turtle wax doesnt last as long in the real world on a car under normal washing and elements vs the others . Its good when fresh and put through this useless test that only shows it resists these tests but not so much the heat and sun light for 1000s of hours. I have them all and the turtle wax doesn't last as long . Its still a good product .

    @@Spiritcr1jsher I'm seeing the same thing in my environment. S&S is incredibly active that first month or two, after that it falls off, goes down to sheeting which gets slower and slower. Next to MHCW on my daily driver, they both go totally flat at about the same time, but MHCW maintains better hydrophobics for that second half of their lifespan. It also seems to work a bit better as a topper for a coating as well. Still testing the TW Hybrid Solutions, but it's still quite active and easy to work with. I would go with S&S over others if I needed that chemical resistance strength to hold up to frequent aggressive washes and decons on a vehicle that gets very dirty frequently but is maintained frequently as well.. it would take a lot of chemical hits that would normally be chipping away at the coating or the clear.. The MHC Liquid Wax and Sealant are not something I would ever buy. Why use a product with a time and labor intensive application if it does not outperform products with quick and easy spray application? But I do it for profit, so my needs are different. I know some people enjoy the hand waxing process itself, and it's always good to have options.. 👍👌✌

If my car gets caught in a sun shower or gets hit by sprinklers in the parking lot at work, I want what's going on in the control section 1000% of the time. Give me a product with protection and extreme slickness but 0 hydrophobic properties and I'm happy. Such a conundrum

    @C-Bomb I'm sorry someone gave you that misinformation because it's simply not true, and maybe Jim can chime in as well. Beading doesn't mean protection. A lot of ceramic coatings are warrantied for 4+ years, and it explicitly says the warranty doesn't apply to how well the beading properties are maintained. So even if your coating stops beading after a year, it's still warrantied to protect your vehicle. The reason you don't want beading is because of acid rain and minerals in hard water. So say you get a rain shower filled with pollutants on your car and you've got a million beads now... 20 minutes later the sun comes out. Whatever crap that was embedded in that water is now etched into your ceramic coating, wax or sealant. Some etching/water spotting is worse than others, it all depends on what the water source is. That's why you see a lot of detailers with deionized water. Deionized water won't etch if it dries on paint. In the control section of Jim's video, you'll notice the water just quickly evaporates. That's exactly what you want, the only downside obviously is that there's no "protection" or sacrificial barrier between the environment and the clear coat

  • @derek723

    @derek723

    4 жыл бұрын

    @C-Bomb correct, however saying beading means protection isn't accurate. Felt like that was the main focus, my apologies. But that brings two things to mind: 1) Again, the amount of water spotting/etching always differs. Sometimes a coating takes the brunt of it...sometimes it doesn't and you've gotta break out the light polish to correct 2) If you pay $1000-$2000 dollars for a ceramic coating install, the last thing you want to hear is the water spots aren't coming out and it needs to be re-coated At the end of the day, there needs to be an agreement in the detailing community that protection, gloss and slickness = good, beading = bad. We'll get there some day

I bought lots of this turtle wax thanks to these kinds of videos and it doesnt shine or last long at all especially on a dark colored car. Best shine ive tested out of all products from a meter are megs ultimate quick wax and griots best of show paste wax .

If they want they can definitely come up with a product that can last and sustain a lot longer but why would they kill their earnings. I wonder if I go to blenders and ask them to build or create ultra durable products regardless of their cost, yeah it would not sell like Meguiar’s but my consumers or applicators can count of getting durable protection at least.

    Im telling that the turtle wax doesn't last nor shine as long in real world conditions we drive our polished cars in . Under hours of heat and UV light the turtle wax is not so great , i use all of these products. All these tests show is that turtle wax resists iron removers and such , not continuous heat and UV light mixes with rain .

    Jimbo, with the M27 & Ceramic Liquid sucking, what liquid wax type product would you recommend that has the best hydrophobic properties and longest lasting in liquid form that isn't a spray sealant/coating. Looking to add a product to my lineup that I know will offer long-lasting protection.

    Really you need to have a control section (no product) and two sections per product. Leave one of the sections untouched and compare the beading to when you test their resistance.

    There is limited value to this type of testing. You aren’t putting iron remover on your car. I have used the consumer version and it looks great.

    If you follow his channel, you've seen HCW survive certain waves. If you've never followed you might assume these products suck. Ones consumer, ones pro.. Ten dollar difference and they both die at level 2?.. What's extreme solutions never seen it at Walmart... I get it. It's hard to make this video for the newbie, fanatic, prosumer, and pros without being a 30 minute video. I personally was looking for gloss meter readings. Some people would buy for more gloss alone and not care about durability. Hard audience to please. Anyway. Good job on the content man. Can I request you demo more extreme solutions stuff? Apex does great but they have soo many more products.

    All of your videos end like this... Iron remover.. Fine... Next thing... kills both. In like 10 videos that I've watched it's the same result. Why not find something that might not kill both? Lame. It's like you're bored of the test.
