His tunic insignia seems more screen accurate this time.

I have 1970s Mego figures but have bought Taylor in astronaught suit, Cornelius, Ursus, and Caesar, Zaius and Brent in rags. Plus the soldier ape in purple. I am awaiting delivery of Taylor loose in rags. Its incredible to have such a figure after all these years.

I'm glad we finally have proper human figures rather than the generic "astronaut" figure

@Ian Marchant I have got Virdon and Burke from the TV series. They are surprisingly good.

I had forgotten about Virdon and Burke, yeah they had great headsculpts, some of Mego's best work

They should’ve done the shoes green.

Thanks for this - I'd bought one of these, but hadn't undressed him, and so had no idea his body was brown; which is great news, as I have a vintage Soldier Ape head in need of a body! I was going to order one from Classic TV Toys in the USA ($7), but they want a minimum order of $50+, plus Postage to be notified after I'd paid for the order - Postage quoted as anywhere between $40 and $80!!!! Whilst I could easily make up a $50 order, the postage is way, way too much, and having ordered from the States before, they're not exactly the swiftest either. So they lost a sale, and I'll just have to fish around elsewhere... I'll have to Dremel out the neck hole on the new figure, but that shouldn't be a problem, so thanks once again! :)

I've cut out the neck out on Trek bodies for vintage heads and it's pretty easy to do. Ordering from the States is mad postage wise now and just not worth it.

    Why the dark hands?

It's weird they went with a dark body overall but the hands stand out. I prefer the old style light hands for this figure

I just think of him wearing gloves - Who wants to touch a filthy Human, of all things? Anyway, I'm off to watch a movie - Dunno why, but I have the sudden urge to watch Hammer's Dracula A.D..1972... Weirder. ;)
