We used to use oscilloscopes when I was in physics at school many years ago. Used for displaying waveforms and would also show noise interference in the waveform.

an oscilloscope is a test instrument that measures & displays different electrical waveforms.
Great video friend.... Good stuff.. I also using Megger tester to validate my EV charger. To simulate the load, i have connected the 3000W mobile heater in the megger output. and set 13A output current and CP state is C . but charger says, 0kw output. but heater is ON. Any idea ? how to simulate the load ( Charging percentage of KW )
Does the 10 Amp limit affect this testers ability as a lot of EV chargers now use far more current than that and this will probably become the standard in the future?
Can I test O-PEN fault detection using this unit?
I like it, bought the Megger because Fluke doesn't have one.
What about Di-log DL1930EV
did you guys ever have an issue with the PE pre test on a zappi until you turn the cp to charge ?

Yes! i have.. I've installed a few Zappi's and found that it fails the Pre test (the LED lights up to say there is a fault) Zappi say its the way their circuitry is build and Megger say its ok. Going to Clarify this later. Did the Ohme pro lately and that tests ok.

Funny enough I had this issue today! Tested a Zappi and had the issue with the PE.. it’s one cable with correct polarity.. TNCS maybe that’s the problem? Or back feed from another source?
I have used this unit now for 3 months, but I can't find out what the PE pre-test is for.

Do you have to use the megger + tester with the EV adapter?

No it will work with any MFT

@@Tools4Sparks technically not correct. You also need an mft that will do 6mA dc tests too, so the 1741+, the TIS MFTPRO etc. a loto of the older testers will not do the dc test.

@@PhilipHudnott thanks for the info. Having just passed my 2391-52 course, I now need an mft tester. What other testers could you list that can use this ev adapter, or what other budget options are out there please?

@@LeighWinspear what brand of tester are you using at the moment? My advice would be to stick to the same brand so you have less of a learning curve. Personally I use the TIS mftpro and their adapter but I know a lot of people aren’t keen on the form factor.

Does this test type A RCDs? I read that it only does type AC?

You set your mft to the correct rcd type, not the EV adaptor & away you go
