MegaSquirt Flat Foot Shifting & 2 step Launch Control Setup | Before and After Comparison
I put a guitar foot pedal switch in my Plymouth Sundance, which I'm pretty sure is a sentence that has never been said before.
MegaSquirt flat foot shifting will cut the engine when you press the clutch pedal, allowing you to keep your foot to the floor while you shift. (yes you can do that without it if you like breaking stuff)

Really dig the quick videos with no BS. Old school KZreads vibes are always appreciated
Pro tip, If a car came with cruise control it will probably have a switch at the top of the clutch to cancel the it, which can be used for this. I did it in my supercharged '84 rx7 and it works perfectly
Now it's clear why guitar pedals are so expensive. The magic button not only distorts the guitar signal, but also the boost diagram. Amazing!
I love your humor in this shit man, especially the outro. keep it up lmao
I love that I found this channel.
Bruhhh I wasn't expecting peak content like this but wow, I was here at 1.7k subs and I'm about to watch your channel grow. Dope microphone voice and I learned and laughed at the same time. I need a 20 min video every week homie, with more white board diagrams. like a lot more.

where did you set the rev limiter to (in comparison to your regular rev limiter) when the clutch switch is engaged? also assuming you can do it in mega squirt (i assume you can) put on a trolling antilag during that shift and keep the boost from dropping at all or even building between shifts. would be fun to see it in a video like this. great content btw subbing for sure!
@HatersGarage

I set it to 3300 RPM. I don't believe you need a clutch switch for antilag since that's its own thing. Flat foot shifting is a good alternative for street cars since it's not as hard on your turbo as anti-lag, but it doesn't work quite as well.
@WrenchAvengers

nice. try putting it at about the place where your RPM will drop to in your next gear (id think thats higher than 3300 but i dont know anything about your car lol) i think if you set it higher it would keep boost up even more so then it did. when i say antilag i mean more rolling antilag. its pretty much same concept of antilag sitting still like say spooling turbo at launch but it does it while at speed. (seen it referred to as rally antilag) also guys who roll race often use it as well. you would want it on a switch i think so that basically it should retard the timing when the clutch is in to spool up the turbo when you have no load on the engine. atleast thats how i see it being effective in a drag racing application. all of this is speculation based on what i have read i havnt ever played with rolling antilag or flat foot shifting myself though i do intend to use FTS in my car here pretty soon. @@HatersGarage

@@WrenchAvengers the 3300 RPM is for the launch control, you can set it up to keep the rpm at a set point during flat shift, but that's really only useful if the rpm drops faster than you can shift. For rolling antilag like you're talking about most people just put a button on the dash and hold it to enable the 2 step. You can wire it in parallel with the clutch switch

Ah the button makes sense. Was just thinking it could be something fun for you to mess with for a video. Thanks for the answers!

@@HatersGarageI would still set the second rev limiter about 500 rpm lower than the expected rpm after a shift depending on how fast the rpms fall, so if a shift does take slightly longer it can't lose too much rpm/boost
Thanks for sounding like a regular dude and not a douche.
you are doing mad modifications i aspire to do, cause you know. why not?

Any car/ shit box with a standalone ECU that supports it.
Never let off gas if you can really drive you keep it to the floor only pop clutch down about 3 inches slam gear slide foot off clutch not lift clutch foot slip toe off bottom of clutch been racing over 20 years I never ever let off the gas stay at full boost always and never let off nitrous button not even shifting
I'm a bit dumb, but couldn't you just keep your foot on the gas while shifting instead of this? p.s. love the vids!

@@HatersGarage maybe but the turbo muffles the sound, by bypassing it who knows, all four cylinders would actually get boost, just the turbo would be like a twin scroll missing a whole side. Interesting spooling times. Will it spool twice as slow?
So it's a killswitch?

Sort of, it also enables a second rev limiter.

@@HatersGarage I was close! You are hilarious. I like your style. I'm doing a few things on my quest to build a tiny RC monster truck. I have a tiny channel here on KZread. I wish that I had been filming last night went I smoked a brand new high RPM motor with waay too much power. I waited 2 weeks for it to walk here from China and within 15 minutes it had been smoked 😂 That Turbo losing boost during a shift was some truly one of a kind, cutting edge thinking, bro. I used to drag race the super bee that I had 40 years ago, so I know a bit about driving, racing and performance. I always had an automatic transmission because I would win automatically 😁 There's a faded photo of me at the drags on my channel homepage, if you get bored.
